Because when in the mid to late 80's everything became sapphire and later when Luminova took over, it took away the vintage charm.

    IMPO of course ;-)

There is a place for 16610's and 16600's and the like.... But not yet, again IMPO.

Not sure this counts as it's (I assume) a Watchco NOS rebuild. It is awesome though.

This definitely counts, 1974, birth year for me. Serviced, sealed, tested and still ready to do it's thing after 40 years!

Sub is from 1976 (I bought it new!), Ploprof from 1975 (I think).

    Great thread!

The Longines Ultronic Diver and the Lip Nautic Ski diver stirred my loins in a pleasurable way.

Not an expert but its a Ultronic 8484 I believe, 42mm case 22mm lugs. Uses the famous pre-quartz tuning fork or 'hummer' movement originally made by Bulova but use by loads of brands in the early to mid 70s. They are a great and interesting watch for the money!

I have commented on these Aquadive watches before, they are stunning and represent everything in a watch that I admire. I dont usually go for electric watches, but would be more than happy to go down that route to own one of these. THhe first one in the sequence (blue and orange bezel) is the pick of this bunch

    No problem, delighted to help.

Looking at those pics I'm embarrassed to admit that when I owned it I don't think I ever noticed that it doesn't have '30' printed on the bezel!
