I've had mine almost three years and it has been on a whole host of straps but it's never looked better than now on Eddie's green nato.Originally Posted by barryw

I recently agreed a sale for mine and when it came to it I couldn't do it - I think that says it all really (the fact that it was my 40th gift from my missus also contributed to pulling out).
I agree the warmth and distortion the acrylic produces, it's just lovely.Regarding the Natos, I think Eddies are the best quality, but for me the grey was just too silver, and the green just too green.

The Everest looks great on the new NATOs. I'm trying to hold out for the new batch of the '29a, but seeing your pics, I'm tempted to pick up one of these. Thanks for sharing the images :)

I love the watch, but I fear I don't have the wrists to carry off a near 50mm lug-height.
I know the Everest will wear very differently from this chunky diver, but this is what 46mm lug height looks like on me...
The original 36mm Rolex Explorer is probably my "grail watch", so if the Everest was smaller, I would have bought one years ago...
You probably know this, but just in case you didn't, you might want to have a look at a Zeno Explorer (ZEX) which is very similar to the Everest but is 36mm (or thereabouts) which is closer to the original size of the Explorer. It was recently re-issued, so it may be possible to get a new one.
Yeah, I'm keeping an eye out for one...
I narrowly missed out on a Zeno on eBay for £170 from a watch dealer in Japan.
You mean the Time-Design ones? I saw them, and I'm incredibly tempted, but I think £325 is a little too high. I can pick up a vintage Omega cal. 601 for that kind of money...
Given that Rolex allowed the copyright to expire on the 36mm Explorer, I don't know why someone else hasn't just made a straight, modern version of it... Eddie...?

I have a 6.75 incher and I wear mine every day. On a nato, leather or canvas it's perfect but on the bracelet it just becomes too big because of the raised centres of the end links. I honestly think if they were flat it would be fine. The bracelet is unbelievably good quality at it's price point but I've even started wondering whether I could find an alternative oyster with flatter end / centre links.

I'm in exactly the same position, the bracelet is great but I just can't get it right, either too tight or too slack.The centre links have always put me off as it increase the heft of the watch, mine is back on the Nato for now, but it looked great on the Hirsch liberty in honey but looked a bit flat on the dark brown liberty.
This is my current favourite: Everest on Bonetto Cinturini rubber :)

Either brown leather or a Nato for me, it wears fine on my slightly sub 7" wrist........

I wear mine on a leather strap (probably a Hirsch, most of mine are) and it's a lovely understated watch.
Clear as day to read too, which helps as I struggle to read most of my watches without reading glasses these days... Oh the miseries of old age!

After much consideration I think I've now come to the conclusion that I've got to have one of these! They look great, have great reviews and eem to be very versatile. Just missed one on SC but it has to be done

I have to agree. When I first got the Everest I wasn't sure about the plain looks and the acrylic crystal. But it has really grown on me. I now love the simple, highly legible display. Likewise the acrylic crystal gives the watch a classic look and is very practical. Sapphire crystals are almost scratch proof but can shatter when dropped on a hard surface. Acrylics are the opposite... easy to scratch but very difficult to break and the scratches can be easily polished out or the crystal replaced cheaply.
I've worn it on the bracelet and also various NATOs and it looks super on both.
The only minor improvements could be... a signed crown. I think the unsigned crown looks a bit "generic". The clasp could be a bit better. The bracelet is great quality, but I think it's slightly let down by the clasp. Maybe just a safety clasp, or release buttons to stop it popping open if you snag it?

I know what you mean. I've been hovering over one of these for ages. I'm still waiting for the next batch of the PRS-29 to come along, otherwise I would have picked one of these up months ago.

I've had mine for a couple of years now and still think it looks great on leather, NATO or metal.
It's just about to go back on the bracelet for the winter.
Wait till the new TF nylon straps with deployant are released, they will suit this watch really well
It's one of those watches that seems to look good on anything. I should try some natos, mine has always been on the bracelet.
