I am on fence re this.
On WUS , it started with car and then - your watch and your shirt
- your doggy and your watch etc.
Am not kidding.
Certainly has to be done right, otherwise can easily look like showing off.
The watch is now sadly gone (it was worth more than the car...........)
This one's still with me - it was taken inside the car - honest.
OK Car related
There's a Hulk in the bag.
LOL Java - reminds me of: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHo2pXO_XAI
Green, because you think you have more money than me? Did you watch that clip to the end?
Where is your sense of humour, man?
I predicted how the thread would turn and I was right. Should I buy a Lada specifically to participate in this kind of thread.

The American dream has teeth too and where there was once less of the green-eyed monster than here in the UK, I've found they have been cultivating the beast in the recent decade.
Personally, I work on the principal of celebrating the earned success of others and doing what I can to make others successful. I also don't measure success in material terms, although respect that for some this may be how they themselves gauge whether they have achieved or not.
As for cars, I get a buzz from driving any new car and how long that thrill last for is down to how good the car is, not the cost of it. I've met a fair few people on TZ who love cars and watches and that has led to off-line friendships. The enjoyment of a mechanical watch and cars seems intertwined for many.
If you want to moan about the signs of material consumption and the perceived flaunting of it, why are you on a watch forum in the first place? This forum is filled with photos of 'new arrivals', SOTC, 'what should I buy?' etc; therefore, the backbone is about expenditure and showing it off.
I always assumed the majority of people on this forum had more than one watch, often quite a few and with a fair chunk of money sunk into them. Perhaps I just live in an affluent area but of the members I've met from TZ a lot of them have interesting cars. There's already a thread here on 'what do you drive?' so whats so wrong about one on car wrist shots?
It's an XK120, btw. Not mine sadly but I am insured on it and do get to drive it.
Not sure this counts - cheap watch, historic vehicle.
1- If bought with hard earned money, everybody has a right to to buy what he/she likes.
2- I can't look inside peoples head to know if they are showing off or just passionate about cars and watches.
3- I wouldn't put so much money towards material goods if In my posession, but that's not the point here, freedom of choice is.
Oh, and WUS sucks..........
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
