My eyes hurt
Bleurgh!

Amazing tech though...
WOW! I thought I had stumbled onto an Invicta/Crayola collaboration
It's criminal what these people do to really good watches.
Sometimes I rather regret that I have a very big screen on my computer - that was a horribly in your face moment!
Dear God!
A little bit of colour can be good, and I have no problem with people "modding" these watches - sometimes it looks cool, but these are hideous!
I mean look at this bracelet - looks like someone used those little Umbrol Enamel Paint pots (remember those?!) to colour it in!
And this?! Bonkers!

The pics to be fair are better than the real thing.
Totally totally horrid. Even for a Rolex
I thought the general idea of modding was to improve things. Not one of those designs improves on the original. Just terrible.
If you want something that looks unlike a Rolex, don't buy a Rolex in the first place.
Ghastly...
...though there was a thread on here not long ago that highlighted a member of an American forum for whom one of these might just be the perfect watch...
I actually quick like the blue and white on the dial, the rest doesnt work for me though. But they didn't even manage to print their name in the middle. Slapdash.
Some of the others a truely rotten though. All the ones with links only semi painted look ridiculous.
At the risk of being shot down in flames, the grey explorer isn't too bad....
Like Toy Watch...but different
All are staggeringly repellent, with the least vomit-inducing being the blue one in my opinion.
Still, I can just about imagine that this technology could be used intelligently to accent a few bracelet or case components on some watches.
Clearly Rau-Tech are to watches what Kahn is to Range rovers et al.
This is akin to giving my son some sharpies and leaving the room.
Not everything needs colouring in, these are not nice on the retina.
Sady, someone will find them attractive!
Best Regards - Peter
I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
You know what? To each his own, and all that. I subscribe to the "if you bought it, you can do what you want with it" school.
But these are just ghastly, there really is no reason or excuse for this. The tech is interesting and could possibly be used for something more appropriate by someone with eyes, but in the same way that the usefulness and beauty of carbon fibre doesn't excuse those Mansory custom car abominations, just because this can be done doesn't mean it should be.
i actually really like the look of the black and gold explorer 2, and by that i mean i think its a nice thing for someone to do to their watch though, as there is no way i would be sending mine in for the work!
Christ on a bike!! - this made my eyes bleed. Its like a Rolex/ Minecraft Mash-up.
Wow. Why would you want to completely ruin a classic and successful design and who buys them? Rolex have produced some pretty horrid, tasteless versions in their time but that takes the biscuit.
If we all liked / wanted the same thing the world would be a very boring place.
However I personally cant see the point in these 'enhancements' as not to my taste.
Some of the colour schemes are not that bad in the renderings, but the one wrist shot they have makes the whole thing look very cheap!
What's the cradle thing that the case appears to be encased in? Is that another "enhancement"?
It's the straps that are challenging me. Take those away, and replace with plain NATO , and I think they may have some takers for those.
blimey.
OMG! My eyes hurt, too!
Interesting technology, but the result..... not so much!
Has anyone seen a modded monstrosity like this in the flesh? I'm guessing that the people who do this are surrounded by expensive stuff and do so to stand out amongst their very, very rich peers. I'm guessing middle/Far East.
It's a bit on the gaudy side to say the least but was rescued by the fact that I like red on watches and it's a Rolex. As for the others posted here - pass me a bucket quick.
Ironic that the arricle mentions customised pieces need to retain the level of quality associated with unmolested models.
I have nothing against customisation but these all look ghastly. Who on earth would pay good money for these?
Can someone send me a link to a watch that ABTW didn't like? I mean, genuinely slated cos it looks like a POS?
Some things can never be unseen
Oh my good God, what were they thinking?
