You can get 10% off Euro supplied watches from a few places within the UK but I dont know of any other discounts.
I'm considering getting a Rolex 114060, and wonder if anyone can advise of the best possible deals out there.
I've been offered three years interest free, on full retail. But are there any dealers doing decent cash discounts, throwing in a free service etc that anyone may be aware of?
I have considered getting one off Chrono24, as the prices look quite decent with the strength of the pound v the Euro. But, it's knowing what sellers are genuine, and trustworthy.
Anyone had any experience of buying one off there?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers!

If you really want a deal, I'd look for a LNIB used one, especially here - try asking in WTB. There was one on SC last week.
Other than that, the Euro grey dealers do seem to have the best new prices, but I feel, like you, that I'd want some independent feedback on them given that I can't easily just pop in there and have a chat. It is tempting since you can save at least £1,500 or so on UK retail.
Iconic are at £4500 aren't they?
Iconic watches is showing them for £4500 (10% off), they are one of the good guys. Bought a midsize Datejust last year from them for the other half with no issues.
The Watch Centre generaly has the odd one in too.
Best price will probably be Grant and Top Notch Watches here and Show Commerce in Italy.
Thank you to everyone who's taken the time to reply.
What about taxfree at AMS for instance?
Thanks to the clarification.
I'm not sure how much that would make one? But obviously not so easy to pick one up, given I'd have to book a flight there as well.
I think you'd still have to pay the VAT on it when you brought it back into the UK. So with the flight, the duty-free markup, and the VAT I don't think you'd save much over a grey market price.
No VAT, because you stay within the EU. And a flight is booked for what, LDN-AMS-LDN for 70GBP roundtrip nowadays? You can call them and ask availability directly:
+31204059920 or info@gassanschiphol.nl
But the 114060LN usually is in stock, the 116610 is worth checking, these sell quicker.
Take a morningflight and you can enjoy Amsterdam as a bonus, eveningflight back.
So does that make them circa £4k depending on prevailing exchange rate??
Are you sure? I seem to remember reading that goods are only VAT-free if you're flying outside the EU. If you're flying internally, I think you're liable for VAT - either at the point of purchase, or at the point of entry into the UK. You can bring in a single item less than £390 in value tax-free, but a Rolex certainly wouldn't qualify.
Finally an excuse to head to Amsterdam!!!
Actually, although this is correct, I looked up the Schiphol duty-free information and it seems they pay the VAT for you. So you pay the tax-free price whether you're EU-bound or not. That sounds like a pretty good deal.
Duty-free and VAT
i guess chrono24 is good in the way that, if you are going to buy a watch from somewhere in the EU then you rather make a short break out of it as well, e.g pick up a watch from germany and have a short holiday.
In terms of sellers, go with trusted sellers or business sellers. I would personally stay clear of any private sellers...
Thanks, I am looking at Chrono24, and there are some very good prices below £4,000 even. It's knowing which ones are trustworthy.
Show commerce have a decent reputation. Use the search function here and google. You will likely have to pay by bank wire, I haven't personally dealt with show commerce but have bought from Italy many times without any issue.
Here's one from show commerce

Thanks for the recommendation, appreciate it.
Anyone else here bought from an Italian dealer they'd recommend?
Ummmm..., not to scare you of, or to put Italian watchsellers down, but in +20 years of trading/buying/selling watches all over the world the only problems I ever encountered are from Italy. In such a matter that I won't ship a watch there again, and certainly won't buy there unless I'm standing in the shop with the watch in my hands.
Thanks Henk, I appreciate your input.
Back to square one, I guess :(
If you are intending buying within the EU I wouldnt send Euro's through a High St. bank as I found the exchange rate was terrible, I used UK Fedex which were excellent although there are plenty more out there.
Henk, are there any Dutch chrono24 sellers you'd recommend, or actually know to be decent?
Subgmt, JKwatchstore. Basically all sponsors of www.rolexforum.nl
June 2014 delivered one for EUR 5k: click .
Last month when I flew to NWI they had a black and white SS on display, no waitinglists anymore for those but still populair so you have to be lucky, best chances are in the second part of the last week of the month (they get new deliveries then).
There are two Rolex shops, one before the gates to EU, and one at the international gates, they can get a specific model from the other desk if needed.
(Perhaps three, they have a shop in the main hal, but not sure they carry Rolex, as I never go there anyway).
Can get 12% off rolex at goldsmiths, PM me if that's any good and I'll send you the link etc.
Orologeria Bodoni has a brick and mortar shop in Turin.
And Turin is connecte by Low Cost flights as well...
A big "Dank je wel " to Henk from me, as I'm off to Amsterdam & Den Haag for my birthday in September. The Schiphol advice is perfect as a 214270 is seriously being considered.
I had an e-mail off them advising.........
Model name: Rolex Submariner
Reference number: 114060
Retail price: 6.150 Euro
Tax free price: 5.082 Euro
We regret to inform you that it is the policy of Gassan Schiphol B.V. not to
reveal the stock availability of Rolex professional steel models. Reservations
on these models are also not possible.
You are, however, able to purchase these Rolex professional Steel models when
available, at the Gassan Watch and Jewellery shops as well as the Rolex Boutique
at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, upon departure.
.....now all I need to do is find someone travelling to Amsterdam who can bring me one back ;)
£470 cheaper than iconic.... Not hugely cheaper considering you may have to pay for flights.... Clearly if going through anyway then yes definitely worthwhile!!
