    Hold-down switch...?

    What is it called please...?

I don't know what it's called so I can't locate one, must be one on Amazon.

I'm looking for a switch for mains use, a light 100W, that when held down with hand or foot turns the light on, when released the light goes off, similar to a bell push.

    TIA

I would call that a 'push to make' switch - the above links seem pretty good for actually getting one.

Moving slightly off topic, but prompted by this thread, I think both I and my kids are about the right age for me to fit some of these in the house. I know it's a cliche that we become our parents, but I really do seem to spend half my life turning lights off and grumbling about it, just like my father did.

You're looking for what's referred to as a 'momentary action'.

Which reminds me, anyone know where to buy the 'useless box'? (not the kit, the assembled box)

    Thanksinadvanceeverso!

Dead man's switch? That seems to ring a bell.
