    Taken the plunge...

After much browsing and pondering for a dress watch I've plunged for a HEQ: The Citizen CTQ57-0934 Chronomaster Leather from Higuchi. The waiting game now starts and of course the dreaded Customs notification...

Nice catch. Please post pics and a review when it arrives.

Congratulations. From what I've read about it, it's a superbly made watch, with one of the most accurate movements in it.

Looking forward to seeing pics (and review :-D), as it's not a watch you often see on the forum.

Just go to the depot with the tracking number – they'll tell you the amount owed and accept payment, and you get to walk out with your new watch. Couldn't be simpler.

Make sure you've ID and something with your address on it, like the water/gas/leccy bill or something substantial. An old letter from your Aunty Margaret won't really work, unless your surname is Thatcher, and has her letterhead on it, etc.

Picked up the watch from the depot...Got a shock when presented with the bill from the tax man. Appears that sender had declared a value JY 30,0000 higher on the customs notification than that on the invoice. Very disappointed.

Haven't had time to take pics but have already dispensed with the deployment buckle. I don't really like them and have replaced with a stock buckle. Wore it in the afternoon/evening. The lume is really terrific. Although it is smaller in diameter to my Rolex explorer 1 (36mm), it wears larger. So far very impressed.

    Pics in the near future.

Very strange... Why would he do that? I assume you paid the amount on the invoice for the watch.

Or the other way round, bill shows a lower amount and declaration for insurance the full amount. Dunno, just guessing..

The customs declaration is nothing to do with any insurance valuation, though.

Thanks, but then I sold it to a friend who is really into HEQ. I feel a bit like a con-man now... :)

Humble apologies. Will post some pics maybe tomorrow.

The watch is great. Have been wearing it on and off to work and people have made comments that it looks stunning.

How much did customs sting you for?
