I watched the Bee Keeper yesterday,Jason Stathams latest movie. I'm normally a fan but it was absolutely pants, terrible script and acting.

I have heard TERRIBLE things about this movie, so much so that I'm properly looking forward to seeing it!

I watch a channel on TikTok called CussCreep, a big black American guy who reviews TV, movies and music. He's a funny guy as well with a cracking catchphrase for anyone who tunes in to watch his opinions... "Remember, if you don't hate what I hate, I don't give a f***"
Yeah, he's just done a run down of the worst 20 movies of 2023 and Statham was in about half of them. The poor lad has dropped right off since Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

Someone mentioned Sexy Beast (must have been when Zone of Interest was discussed). Obviously missed something as I found it completely underwhelming and a waste of 88 minutes.

I strongly disagree. I watched it again recently. It's tremendous. Ben Kingsley's Don Logan is genuinely terrifying.

Hahaha I should have scrolled up before posting my verdict.

the running through the grassy area and woodland helicopter scene. They were obviously splicing together two entirely different pieces of forest/jungle. Different plants and trees in each shot like they'd filmed some of it in a field and filled the rest in with footage of the amazon drove me up the wall.

Agreed, the film is very good and Kingsley is outstanding.

Perhaps he meant the TV series? I've not seen that.

Cobra 1986 with Sylvester Stallone. Supposed to be a cult classic. I beg to differ.

The Killer with Michael Fassbender. 1st 20 mins was narrated inner monologue with no on screen dialogue. Then a bit of action, then went back to self indulgent tripe, gave up after checking IMDB reviews that said it continues in same vein.

Recently had the misfortune of watching Lola. Mercifully a shortish film but 79 minutes of dreck and utter nonsense.

'Devil Girl from Mars' on TPTV

I guess it would be called a 'B' movie.......but honestly I thought it was a lot further up the alphabet.

I liked it as much as any Statham film, you know exactly what you're going to get when you switch it on, sure he won't be troubling the Oscar jury anytime soon, but sometimes it's good just to veg out in front of the box!

    Just so...perfect pizza movie.

American Star...not quite total rubbish because McShane does his best but it was just so slow burn, opaque, uhm the ending...you know when a film doesn't add up, the sum ends up less than despite one or two solid even good constituent parts.

It is so bad I’ve spent most of the film on the web & spent over £500 shopping for things. Jason owes me.

First of his films that I have not enjoyed.

Read poor reviews on here, couldn’t believe it was so bad. It was!

Indiana Jones and “The Dial of Destiny”

We thought go on we have to

Within 10 minutes you just know its going to be a bizarre train wreck and it just goes progressively down hill, what was he thinking agreeing to do it.

I hope the fabulous Mads Mikklesen can put it in his rear view mirror.

Anyway its Nominated for an Academy award I see but thankfully only for soundtrack by the fabulous John Williams.

Completely agree, was coming home from holiday with this on & even then I couldn’t watch it all the way through. Took my wife 4hrs as she kept falling asleep.

In the end I gave up, put the seat in bed mode and just slept instead, much more enjoyable.

Have you seen The American with George Clooney?

I wonder if this is in a similar vein as a lot of people seem to hate that film, but I really enjoyed it.

I watched Quadrophenia last night as I'd never seen it.

Aside from spotting famous British TV actors, it was dire and I have to say it's 2 hours of my life I'll never get back.

A horrible vanity exercise for The Who...

Ghostbusters frozen empire. Noooooo! It had so much promise after the last one passed the baton to the younger, new generation of characters (something I usually hate!) What on earth are they doing? The comedy was just not landing at all, despite Paul Rudd who's usually excellent.
I don't even know where to start. The kids kinda liked it but the way the originals drew in all demographics and became a key part of the pop culture, this one will be forgotten about in 5 minutes flat. If they make a third one.... please note that its about ghosts, comedy and action - not teen angst and the drama of a guy trying to bond with his stepkids.

If you are a mod or Who fan it's still a pretty decent watch but it is 45 years old now and hasn't aged that well IMO.

Rotten Tomatoes collected reviews from 14 critics and gave Quadrophenia a 100% rating.
The New York Times placed the film on its Best 1000 Movies Ever list.
    Cheers,

Yes, I think it aged badly because it’s so much of its time. Even without being rocker or mod, if you were alive at the time you would know about them, about the state of the economy and the job market.
If you do not have those cultural references it’s indeed a bit… hollow.

Quadrophenia is one of my top three films of all time.
Maybe it depends on who you are when you watch it for tge first time.
I was an angst ridden teenager looking for my own identity and it spoke volumes to me.
Right film, right time I suppose.

If you had watched it back in the 70's you would not be saying that. The music is a master piece. A film for the well over 50's.

I really liked Mav and actually thought Cruise underplayed his role quite a bit, he was alot more animated in the first one. Rooster and the now big Rom Com guy were the bigger flashier characters.

Just watched The Iron Claw after recommendation from my brother.
Not quite what I was expecting but very good nonetheless.
The subject matter is not really to my interest but the tale was good.

Didn’t last beyond the opening fight with exaggerated responses to punches, almost seemed CGI to me for some reason.
