Vintage Rolex Restoration with photos (from an iPhone sorry...)

    Hi guys,

You may remember I asked for some information on where to get an old Rolex restored. After some very helpful suggestions I ended up having the watch restored at Stephen Hale Watch Restoration in London. I wanted a sympathetic restoration so they haven't done too much, just a full service, new Rolex crown and stem, new crystal, a very light polish and new Hirsh alligator strap.

The watch is a birthday present for my Dad so will be going to him soon but I liked it so much I bought a similar model and am having that one restored at Stephen Hale too. I'm not sure I need another watch and never take my Submariner off so I may end up selling it but can't decide just yet!

Apologies for the poor pictures, these are just a few rough shots from my iPhone.

    Beautiful.

Being ever-so picky...do we think the strap could do with being just a tad wider?

Agreed, every gentleman should have something like that.

That's lovely. What size is it and is it 9k or 18k?
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

Thanks for the comments guys. It's a 9k gold Dennison case, is 34 mm and is from 1959.

The strap does look like it should be wider, it's the correct size however - I asked the same thing when I picked it up.

Lovely. Could I ask what 'model' the strap is please?? Looks quite thin and what I've been looking for for a white.
PS, I visited Stephen Hale once, very pleasant to deal with.

Very nice job indeed. I'm going to speak to Steven Hale about servicing my vintage Daytona.
