    PRS-53 Photos Please

    Hi all,

I'm starting to have feelings about the PRS-53/Fat Arrow. But I want to be sure.

    Cheers.

    These are....

great watches. I use mine as a "no worry" 6B.
It blends in pretty well with its vintage cousins.

I do love the simplicity of that design, and can see me buying one very soon (Eddie, you'll probably have an order later this month when I get back from China).

I very nearly bought one as a daily "beater" but the lack of date was a bit of a problem, and that role will probably go to the new PRS-10 when its released.

    Great watch

It's a fabulous watch, I use it as my 'posh' watch. small enough to go under a cuff and smart enough to look good where ever. Do yourself a favour and get the leather strap with screws that Eddie sells as well so that you can switch it between a NATO (mine practically lives on a bond RAF nato) and a leather strap.

I LOVE that watch, it's simplicity and overall design. My problem is that even though the size makes it more in line with what it is intended to be, I have a large wrist and they just get lost on me. That same watch in a 42mm and I would be deeply interested.

But hey you can't have everything. Eddie has some other watches which are bigger, like the upcoming PRS-20. So that's not a complaint. I'm "just sayin'". ;-)

This is one of my main concerns - I love my Seamaster (c1996, and well wabi'd after many years of non-stop wear) but at 36mm it's just too small these days. Especially next to my Doxa SUB750s and my B&M Capeland S. I think the PRS-18A is about as small as I'd really wear these days (it's quite tall, which helps), though I have made exceptions for my Rado Diastar and Omega Deville. I'm just debating whether I'd make the same exception here.

I have a Zeno Explorer, which is small, but with 20mm lugs. While I love the watch itself - the quality, the design, the 1016 homageness of it... :D It just gets lost on my gorilla wrists.

It's percepetion though. Our Martin has wrists much larger than mine and he happily wears watches of that size.

On a side note, my wife kind of "took" my ZEX, but she hasn't worn it for awhile. I may decide to "take" it back.... Probably a dangerous thing to do.... ;-) She's a tough hearty lass, mine is.... She won't be home this weekend so it might be an opportune time.

    Size matters?

I was into huge watches for a while (I'm not a big guy)
and then I really began to appreciate small vintage watches.
    I have a whole bunch small vintage mechanicals 34-36mm: here's a sampling...

Nivada Antarctic 35mm (with what must be replacement hands)

Oris 35mm (probably from the '90s, but vintage styling)

    Zodiac Chrono 35mm

    Zodiac chrono (opposite colour scheme!)

    Lemania x 2 @ 35mm

    Hamilton 35mm

The 53-H is my favorite Timefactors watch...

    A must own IMO.

    Thanks all.

I'm still in the final throes of deciding whether or not to plunk down the $300+ dollars (Canuck bucks you see), but these photos are tugging at my WIS heart strings:

That's one heck of a cellphone camera. Cheers.

Now I'm really glad I ordered the '53 last night with a TF aviator.

Still debating those two Hirsch Travellers right now... but that's another watch and another story.
