I think this is the question that trips itself up: Does your character play in a band with their brother?
Brian's brothers Carl and Dennis, co-founder members of the Beach Boys passed away in 1983 and 1998.
So the correct now answer is 'No'.

Anyway, it got it wrong a second time. LOL !!

Beat it with Twigs from Tree Fu Tom.

The joys of having a three year old!

    Cheers,

Beat it with Idris Elba who I thought would be easy?
If you beat it it checks your answer and adds to it's database so I guess it can only get better the more it's used.
    Greasy little time killer, thanks.

It seems to have mixed up General Sir Redvers Buller with Gordon of Khartoum.

    I tried it a while a go...

I thought I'd really got it stumped with Eddie, the dog from Frasier...

    ..how wrong I was...

It also just got Speedy Gonzales

  12. #62
Tricked it, never got Kenneth Horne.

Daughters are very impressed as it knows all the characters from My Little Pony, although I did have to explain that, to the best of my knowledge, Twilight Sparkle has never been involved with pornography!

Max Planck - theoretical physicist 80+ questions 4 failed attempt pah!

Then it asks you who you were thinking about- to add to its database the more you play the better it gets!

  18. #68
It couldn't get Gen. Heinz Weidling who surrendered Berlin to the Russians in WWII. It was close but kept picking the wrong general! First it guessed Paulus, then Manstein. Fun little game though.

My first college programming assignment was to code this game... it had to walk through its store of people and objects, then ask what questions it could have asked to help narrow the field if it didn't know who or what you were thinking of. Simpler times :)

Very good but had to laugh at this sequence of questions:

    Genie: Is this character human?

    Me: No

Genie: Is this character a lesbian?

The best one I encountered was:

Did your character take part in WWII?

    Yes.

Does your character review video games on Youtube?

    No.

I've beaten it a few times - albeit with obscure names such as Pick Withers, the original Dire Straits drummer.

    Pretty cool...

It got Roald Dahl, but after i said he was a deceased Norwegian/British, ex pilot who wrote children's books it still asked about 4 more seemingly unrelated questions before guessing correctly!

Well after 70 questions it tried Philip Green and Peter Stringfellow but no, Mr Platts had it beat!

Although he does appear on its list of characters!

Heh - it differentiated "Kvothe", from the Name of the Wind, with the question "Is he a pub singer?" ;)

I was also briefly stumped by the question "Was this character a Muslim?" when the person I was thinking of was Muhammad...

It guessed Kriss Akabusi for me but missed Jimmy Krankie - suggested Aunt Sally instead. If only it had asked about swinging...

It only seems to have the name of two Irish actors in the database; David Kelly and Brendan Gleason. So much for TP McKenna.
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

Guessed Kirk Brandon in 43 questions at the second attempt. Fairly impressive although it's first guess was Simon LeBon...disgraceful.

    Doesn't like 70's racing drivers

Jacky Ickx is hardly obscure - think it got confused with Ferrari and French speaking - Jean Alesi was it's guess

..doesn't (or didn't) know Clay Regazzoni either. It's a clever algorithm though - it will keep 'learning' the more it is used, so get harder and harder to catch out.

It didn't get Calvin Smith - it guessed Carl Lewis (which is what I was hoping tbh) 1st time around and then Ed Moses 2nd time.
