Dial modifications - anyone do them?

I am wondering whether there is anyone, commercial or private that does reasonably priced dial modifications. I have a couple of spare dials and would dearly love the day / date windows removed. I guess that this would involve filling in the window, making a new marker for the 3 oclock position and refinishing to blend everything in.

    Any ideas folks?

It would involve stripping and completely repainting the existing dial, which means you may as well start with another dial. Why so upset about the day/date window, it can't be that awful that you'd risk buggering it?
...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!

They are a spare ones for a cheap Seiko SNSX79K and an aftermarket copy for a Seiko 6139 Pogue - I have no intention of 'buggering up' the originals or altering the internals of either watch in any way

Far cheaper to buy another dial. Degaz do loads for Seiko's.
cutting a hole in a dial might be doable but filling one in will be near impossible I guess.

I quite agree - the most practical and economic alternative

Which is why I did just this with the SNXS79K

Just wondered whether their were any hobbyists who like tinkering being as I have dials spare
