^^^^ I like the Seiko military very much and I think it’s brilliant value for money. Good purchase

Yes, what a great way to start a young man off.
    Hope he likes it ?

I want to show you a nice watch I gave my youngest son for his birthday, Seiko SNK805K2, an automatic military watch.
I know, this is not a great watch, but I needed a small, not flashy timepiece that a seven year old boy could appreciate. Then, I didn’t have great expectations about it, but I admit that the watch is a very good article if I consider the price it cost.
Seiko SNK805K2 has a slim stainless steel case (diameter 37 mm, thickness 13 mm) and this is probably the first reason I chose it: it fits very well in small wrists, perfect for a child.
The watch has an attractive appearance, the green dial gives a very military and sporty look. Someone could think that these kind of watches appear like toys, but I assure you that it looks great.
As a watchlover, when my wife wanted to buy a quartz watch, I horrified and insisted for an automatic one. Fortunately, I won this “domestic struggle”. The movement works very well and the appearance is quite good.
I gave the watch to my son some months ago and now he loves it, it’s always on his wrist. I hope he will become a watch lover just like me.
What do you think about this purchase? Do you like the watch?

Looking at this one as well for my son now :-). Great choice!

And here is my sarb on newly arrived strap. Shares a similar color theme. Love the strap, it really lets the dial shine.

Everyone should have a Seiko Diver in their collection and since letting my SKX013 go that slot in my watch box has been empty.

Behold Orange Baby Monster, except why it's called 'baby' heaven only knows as it is truly a 'monster' with a 46mm case.

    Congratulations Jim that's a cracker!

I was watching it on eBay but couldn't justify owning another orange 7548 unless of course I manage to track down a 7010 professional version.

Picked up this Baby Monster a few days ago.

Really don't know why it's called Baby as, with a 46mm case, it's more of a Monster.

Haha spot on! And the 'other' part of the answer is the lovely Frinton On Sea. Slightly more, um, relaxed than Clacton.

My old 6309-7290 from '87. I bought it from a guy up in Aberdeen who worked on the rigs offshore, and it had definitely had a hard life. But after a service it was all good again, still battle scarred but a little more accurate...

That really is an incredible collection that you have, I hate to say this but I'm really envious.

Are there any Tunas you don't yet have and what was the inspiration behind this particular collection, have they all been easy to attain or have some been especially difficult to track down?

    Thanks!
I’m currently in the process of selling all my unlimited Tunas (with one or two exceptions...) in an effort to
limit the madness a bit... (the unlimited ones are fairly easy to source again if so desired).

There are of course some I don’t have but that is more down to choice rather than not having been able to find one. The Tunas have crept up on me over the years, always did like them but the collection focus on them came around 4-5 years ago really. I have some very difficult to find versions and more than luck I have been helped by good friends around the world to acquire them.

    Iconic watches IMO.

Love the Seiko Black Series (the 3 ltd editions). I wasn’t even into this reference until I saw it in a shop window and it’s really nice in the metal. One came on eBay and made an offer and he accepted.

I wouldn’t mind the black turtle but they seem crazy expensive for what they are. I’d also banned myself from buying modern Seiko autos with their cheap movements as they seem to run so poorly compared to my older ones.

Although the black series are great looking and ltd edition they’re hardly an investment piece so you’d want to wear it but people seem to be asking more than the price I could have got one from Jura and I don’t see the value of the turtle at £450, might be me?

Does anyone know what the UK price these were selling new for was? There’s one in a shop near me (Seiko dealer) which I may be tempted by but they seem to have it marked up really high.
