    Old Omega Information

    Evening,

I was wondering if anyone could give me some more information in regards this watch.

I could not find any markings or codes on the watch.

The watch was my grandad's and I will look to get it service and back running again.

Any recommendations and ideas on cost involved would be much appreciated.

    Thank you in advance

P.s I apologise for poor iPhone pictures.

The markings will be on the movement. You may need special tools to open the case. They usually snap on or are screwed on (the screwed on ones have places to fit opening tools). There should be a serial number and a movement calibre No.

Have a look on the Omega: Vintage watches Database.

I would suggest you use "SHOW MORE FILTERS" and look under Manual Winding (mechanical) movements:

    Possible match: DW 2153

Would suggest checking models from the 1940s-50s. As has been suggested having the back opened will give you the model number on the inside of the case, movement number (dates the watch), calibre number and the material that the watch is made from.

There won`t be a serial number on the case; the movement will have a number and that's all.

The watch is 1940s or 50s. Straightforward to service and shouldn`t cost too much provided nothing's severely worn. A new mainspring and glass is all it should need if you're lucky.

Just to say, what a nice watch and heirloom.

I have a very similar version in steel which dates to 1951.
    Cheers,
