+1 for Springsteen. His more recent stuff is not up to scratch, although I like The Ghost of Tom Joad.

The River (double album), I would argue there isn't a bad song on it.
    Darkness is outstandingly good.

Given that a few of the acts mentioned here didn't have the longest careers a few fillers might have squeezed them another album at least

Just listened to those three in a row. Positively, not one filler.

Just been listening to Raintown by Deacon Blue (one of my favourite albums from the late eighties); apart from the two stand-out tracks - When Will You (Make My Telephone Ring) and Destiny, all the rest are all well crafted songs with first-class lyrics and certainly not a filler among them.

To be honest its only with this thread in mind that I have started listening to complete albums again. Its far too easy to move the CD or IPod on if you don`t fancy a track at that moment. In the 12" and cassette tape era it was much harder !!

    Anyway a couple of contenders

    Deep Purple in Rock

    Nickelback - Dark Horse

Lots of classic stuff. This is bang up to date and dare I say it is a "classic".

    Article Monkeys - AM

I haven't listened to a whole album this much for years.

Bloody hell...not one Michael Jackson album yet?!

I'd say Thriller, just about excusing the cloying The Girl is Mine duet with Paul McCartney.

    Discovery - Daft Punk
By the way - Red Hot Chilli Peppers
    Now - Maxwell
    Simple Things - Zero 7
    OK - Talvin Singh
Dark Side of The Moon/The Division Bell/Wish you were here - Pink Floyd

    Avicii - True
Boards of Canada - The Campfire Headphase
Múm - Yesterday Was Dramatic, Today is OK
    Sigur Rós - Ágætis byrjun
    Leftfield - Leftism

Tricky one - I struggle to think of a single album in over 40 years of buying that doesn't have a few 'less than stellar' tracks.

A few albums (like ABC's Lexicon Of Love, for example) work really well as a full piece, but not all the tracks are universally great.

Looking at some of the nominations here, I feel that some people are just listing their favourite albums, rather than being brutally honest about the 'no filler tracks' bit.

If, on the other hand, by 'no fillers' you simply mean 'no tracks you always skip over on the CD or MP3', then nearly all the albums I own fall into that category, except "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" and "The Beatles (white album)"!

Roger Daltry, 'Under A Raging Moon'.

Cracking album IMO, but not that easy to find. The CD was unavailable for several years in the UK but was eventually re-released.

    Agree entirely.

Its extremely hard to find any album that has every single track that could stand alone on its own merit.Yet to find a album where I dont flick over at least one track.

This thread has prompted me to delve into the CD cupboard and root out some forgotten gems. Totally subjective and definitely not to everyone's taste but I'd add:

Buenos Hermanos - Ibrahim Ferrer, absolutely spellbinding
I Never Loved a Man the Way I loved You - Aretha Franklin, the pinnacle of Muscle Shoals output IMHO
Aerial Ballet - Harry Nilsson - what a voice, what a waste

    Cheers

Excellent call. My kids grew up listening to that album and one of them went to see Bob Mould play it from start to finish recently. She said the crowd was a 50/50 mix of folks her age and mine....

Given that suggestions in this thread have gone beyond pop/rock, I’m a bit surprised no one has mentioned ‘Mingus Ah Um’ by Charles Mingus yet.

All of the tracks are excellent and the album effortlessly combines a highly melodic and accessible surface with a great musical depth that keeps drawing you back for repeat listens.

Not a single dud amongst the 9 tracks. RJD on great form (showing once again why IMHO he was one of the all time top rock vocalists).

Not that surprising really as he had recorded this just a few years earlier which again has no fat whatsoever (again IMHO).

Some great suggestions and eclectic choices, totally agree with The Queen Is Dead, OK Computer, The Bends, Stone Roses, Dark Side Of The Moon and all Beatle suggestions (Revolver is my favourite) but need to throw in: Pixies - Doolittle, The Smiths - Hatful Of Hollow, Elbow - Seldom Seen Kid and I Am Kloot - Sky At Night. Loads of other favourites but these have stood the test of time and still get listened to regularly.

Face the Music - Electric Light Orchestra
The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway - Genesis
Broadsword and the Beast - Jethro Tull

    Very subjective of course.

I know but they are fantastic! The first time I ever saw them was on TV on a Glastonbury show and they blew my mind ( must have been 15)

You really can listen to the whole album.

Spiritualized - ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space is another great album
