I liked all of these - I find the Austin Powers series very funny indeed

Went to see one of the Matt Helm ones at the cinema. Theres a great scene where his girlfriend opens the built in drinks cabinet in his car and pores him a large one whilst driving along

The French OSS117 films Le Caire, nid d'espions and, especially, Rio ne répond plus are Bond spoofs par excellence.

Didn't Our Man Flint have a watch that restarted his heart after he went into suspended animation, pretending to be dead? Or did I dream that...

He did indeed have such a watch, it must be time for a re-run

I've just checked, and Flint was made the year I was born. God knows how I got into the cinema to watch it.

I seem to recall that the crown extended out and vibrated against his wrist

I thought that it was an alarm clock as opposed to something to restart his heart but its a long time ago now and my memory is vague

Perhaps it was wishful thinking on my part. I mean, who wouldn't want that in a watch? I may ask to be buried with my Poljot mechanical alarm, just in case.

Pit was exactly that, an alarm watch that could awaken Flint from his state of deep hibernation:
