Can you put a Rolex on a NATO......

I've always struggled to get this to look right and I always but end up back on the bracelet. Think I might have found one which works.

Certainly got potential, would like to see the full colour picture before passing on judgement though.

The only non bracelet combo i've really liked is the Explorer on gasgasbones, there are a few pics on the net an d it looks da'bomb.

    Looks good!

There's also the 'Tudor Heritage' NATO that looks good - it's similar but has a thinner orange stripe

i like the look of it but much prefer the bracelet, especially as the bracelet is so comfy and well made

Looks quite nice, but is the NATO 1mm too wide?
It's just a matter of time...

It's a bit "matching shoes & handbags" & looks slightly twee

I'd prefer a straight contrast - maybe plain black or dark grey

Twee maybe, but your choice is boring and unimaginative.

Did someone mention handbags? At dawn...maybe?

To answer the OP...yes, you can.

I quite like that, it's a bit of fun after all and nothing that's irreversible. Have you got the picture in full colour instead of greyed out?

  12. #12
you can put one on a shoestring if you want :) , looks fine to me - personally i think natos are very comfortable and have them on most of my watches , just changing to leather or bracelet as needed.

On the basis that "It's not what you wear, it's the way that you wear it", then perhaps you yourself are best placed to decide.
If it feels right, then it is right.

Rolex and Nato is a common combination, IMHO. They fit nicely in most cases.

Yours is a fantastic combo IMHO.

I guess it is but I like the slight over lap of the bigger 22mm vs. 21mm.

No. They look rubbish on most watches, and they should certainly never be used to disfigure a Rolex.

It's trying too hard - and it's twee, and sweet, but if that's the look you are going for you've nailed it ;-)

I've sold hundreds of NATOs for Rolex, mainly Subs and mainly the "Bond".

There are quite a few threads on The Rolex Forum asking "where can I buy a NATO?". I get a lot of sales from there.

    Heritage blue absolute stunner.

Don't like this one, even though I generally find the polar explorer to be the most versatile. Looks good on leather nato, olive, sand, black, navy, grey.

I'd say yes - & I'll go out on a limb here - even with the newer designs ...

but that's because I tend to switch mine between a these Natos & RubberB

It's very rarely on the bracelet.

I quite like my explorer on a GGB.....

I'd say no. Look great in pics, on my wrist like a bit of camping equipment. Really tried to like Nato straps but IMHO just horrid. Even dare I say a bit nerdy. Sorry!

The obvious answer seems to me to be "if it's your watch you can do wtf you like with it".

  31. #31
Slightly different watch but when I had this Explorer, I really liked it on the gray nato.

I was just going to post that I'd seen a white faced explorer on a grey nato ....

On my phone, so I might just not see it properly, but have you taken the cyclops off? Looks great on grey!

    You do see it properly.

No longer have the watch but a friend modded this by taking the cyclops off and re-painting the GMT hand orange. He also kept all the original parts for the purists but I thought it looked great.
