    Sjöö Sandström…any love outside Scandinavia?

I recently bought a watch from the swedish manufacturer Sjöö Sandström. They're pretty common amongst Swedish watch collectors and I've seen a couple of them on here over the years, but I'm a bit curious if there's any love for Sjöö Sandström watches outside Scandinavia. Anyone on here who have any Sjöö Sandström watches?

Nice looking watch. I'll be the first to admit that this is the first time I've encountered this brand though.

They use ETA-movements that they refinish and all the assembly of their watches are made locally in Sweden. Some models are pretty cool IMO (on the other hand some of their models are pretty boring… ;) ). For example they're producing a watch for the Swedish Airforce (UTC Skydiver).

A lot, everything is very expensive in sweden. Probbaly get it by being blonde and sell something - several times.

Yes, the Landsort diver i very special, I've tried it but it was a bit too chunky for my taste. That ice-blue chrono is the same model that I've got.

The name is two swedish surnames combined.

    Translated to English:

    Lake SandStream

I've never come across a watch before which is certified so precisely to its depth rating i.e. 459m

I think it is because the deapest part of the Baltic sea is 459 meters.
And that part is called the Landsort trench.

Slightly south south west of Stockholm. It was where all the Soviet subs were hiding in the mid 80's.

Yes, they left in the beginning of 90s for rebadging. Now back, no worries.

I recently purchased one of their ana-digi's…the UTC Skydiver, the official watch of the Swedish Airforce. I really like it, a good alternative to the Breitling range of quartz watches… And also, there's a week indicator on the display…a necessary feature in Sweden where everybody's using the week number for planning instead of specific dates like the rest of the civilized world.. :)

(sorry for resurrecting an old thread…just needed an excuse to post a picture of my latest watch purchase... :) )

Never heard of them but that's nice, a few minor changes and I'd probably buy one - I'm not keen on the crown, pushers and round opening for the date

The Swedish Krona has been running at between 11 and 12 to the pound for some time now so this watch would probably set you back about £3500 to £4000. Or about the same price as a good used Submariner..... which is probably why most of us have never come across one of these.

You can find nice almost unused examples of the chronolink or Royal Steel chrono for well below £2000 so it's possible to get one whiteout spending rolex-money. :)

I rather like the grey faced Royal Capital http://sjoosandstrom.se/collection/r...tal/#SS-1440-2
Scandinavian style but without the arrogance you get from some of the Danish designers.

Sadly, as I no longer travel to Sweden much I wouldn't expect to find a used one at a reasonable price.

The Royal Capital are really cool! A major step up in quality with the movement from Vaucher and a really well built case. I had the opportunity to try it on a couple of weeks ago. Very nice!

I was wondering if Sjöö might actually be translated to Lake-Island...

Nice looking watches, but a tad too expensive I think.
Anyway, I would have a problem owning a watch I couldn't pronounce the name of.

I like them all, very impressive. Not a huge fan of the case on the stainless ones but the dial makes up for it.

Bumping a VERY old thread I know but does anyone have any recent experience with these? Pics would be nice as well.

A Royal Capital is currently under consideration for my next purchase.

Picked up a steel royal capital a few months back. Loving it. The micro rotor Vaucher movement is really nice and performance has been really good.

Finish is excellent as I would expect at the price point. Can be difficult to find new now. I've not seen any sellers with them in stock. Was told the one I bought (from AD) was the last in stores in Sweden.

The new gold version 2 that was released a few weeks back should still be available but that is significantly more expensive.

The thinness and the bezel are my favourite aspects of the watch. Can imagine the bezel picking up scratches quite easily though. Have been able to keep mine safe so far.

If you can get a hold of a RC I would suggest you do.

The others models they do have been plagued with some issues from what I've read. A batch of movements had problems but should be sorted now. Not heard of any issues with the Vaucher.

    Now some pics

Thanks for the pics. It looks fantastic. I'll have a look around and see if I can find any available.
