I was just going to post this too. I'd go further and say they are better than "pretty good" - a Sub LV for £3900 anyone?! (someone got it as it's gone now). Loads of Explorer IIs for £2650, late model ExpII for £4k, Subs for just over £3k and even ceramic Sub dates for £4,450.

Going by this thread alone (I haven't looked at the site), it sounds surprisingly good! Must be hard times shifting Rolex....guess it is the beginning of the year.

No sign of any sale on their site. Google draws a blank with 'Watchfinder Rolex sale' too.

Where are people seeing these deals??

Email says it's exclusive to email subscribers. Mine was in junk folder. Some decent prices.

There is no link to it, it's via email.

Must admit, the 18k Zenith Daytonas look good...

Edit - my mistake, Foxy figured it out!

A few newish ones, but in the main oldish ones where condition would be a concern, they are actually asking a reasonable price, but i'm walking on by, as I have most of them.

They have 325 in stock so it's a cash raising exercise

Thank for the link. Some decent prices but I'd rather wait for SC...

Is this telling about the company or the general economic situation? The famous Rolex residuals are at risk, but to me this seems like a desperate act of a company in serious trouble with their cash flow.

Hard to say... they stopped commission sales recently I was told as it was just endless TAGs making them 100 quid a time, or is it something more insidious... Hope not, I have had great dealings with them!

Maybe they are just looking to reduce stock levels.

A GMT-Master II is on my wish list, and although I don't especially like the ceramic bezels, I was vaguely tempted by their 116710 at £4,400.

However, a quick glance at Chrono24 shows 49 listings for cheaper 116710s (starting at £3,531), so the Watchfinder price doesn't exactly look like a mega bargain.

I snoozed and lost out on a ceramic LV which was marked used but clearly BNIB and covered in original stickers. It was as cheap as I've ever seen for a similar piece on Chrono24 within Europe. They'll have taken over £100k in sales this lunchtime!

A lot seemed close to or less than prices on SC. It didn't look like a snap sale, the prices for some pieces were below market rate especially from a physical retailer. One can only ponder the reasons why...

Rolex price rise around the corner. Should firm up those apparently slipping residuals a little.

I'm gutted as I've left my credit card at home! :-(

This must be the watch gods telling me I don't need another one right now......I can't believe my wife go to them too.

Yeah 2,650 seems pretty good. But I want one with superluminova.

Can anyone tell from the serial number if this one has superluminova?

I can just by looking at the picture. No T markers on the dial, so it's luminova.

According to this page, http://www.oysterinfo.de/en/detailin...asse/index.php, it should be Superluminova. (SWISS MADE).

For the most part I didn't think those prices were that great.....if they would take an offer on those advertised prices then it's a different thing IMO....

Certainly some great prices there. I nearly bought the GMT MASTER 2 bi-metal, green face, black bezel last weekend at £6,450 but ended up buying a new GMT 2 BLNR this weekend by luck. The green face is now £5,500, so a nice reduction, but can't be justified now!

  35. #35
Very tempted by the white face Daytona at £6400 - means saying goodbye to the SD though. I'm just hoping it's still available when I get home to get the credit card!

Shows how much I know about Rolex's! :) Are the few year old versions slightly more desirable / valuable than the 2013's then?

None of the watches I looked at have papers. Is that normal for Watchfinder? They don't give any indication of past services or the condition of the watch. Is it safe to assume they are all in decent condition?

Seeing as I'm known for buying things 'on a whim'.. I've just acquired myself the 2000 ExpII. I couldn't argue with £750 off.

    Can't wait!

They buy what they're offered; sometimes those watches have papers, sometimes not. Much easier to price the 'no papers' pieces to sell though! They will have been checked over, back off and water resistance tested and you'll get a good one year guarantee. I have had 4 watches from there in a year, all top drawer stuff and service.

They only sell stuff in very good condition however, all their Rolex would be polished for example.

I was quite tempted by the white gold white dial daytona but I am looking to sell my current tt daytona and replace it with a nautilus so must resist temptation.

Stand to be corrected but don't think there is any worthwhile difference from a 2009 to, say, a 2012 version.....aside from age and Rolex warranty left.....and when a service might be needed of course.

Personally don't see any Deep Sea really being worth than £5,500-£6,000 that they regularly sell or trade for here.

There is a dial difference, MkI to MkII believe it or not! Easiet way is to look at the font of SEA-DWELLER its a very rounded font on the Mk1s, unlike any other Rolex historically.

I like it but it makes no difference in value. As you say, all about condition and liklihood / necessity of a service; DSSD must go back to Rolex themselves because of the 3900m water resistance which some might consider a pain.

They have 5 SD's listed at moment not one of them with any papers, nor have any of the steel subs........something very strange. They must trawl the country as ones without papers are rarer than ones with !!!!
Cheapest 3800, hardly a bargain really but thanks for the information.

Because the ones with the papers sold first - they bought mine with full set a few weeks ago. I'd say 3800 was a good deal with a years warranty if you want to wear it, not collect it.
