Show me you moon phase watches ...

Having been wowed by Anders Henri Duvoisin triple calendar in the "favourite hand wound" thread, I'm keen to see more triple calendar, moon phase watches!

There's something just incredibly sophisticated about the pale dial with moon phase display. Thanks :)

I LOVE moonphases! These are my two, the first a PC and the other - whilst not a triple date - also beautiful.

    They're great, thanks!

Are moon phase watches considered old fashioned these days?

That JLC has class written all over it. I like the GO too, but preferred the one you had before with the asymmetrical dial (Panomatic Lunar IIRC).

One of my favourites in my collection - Martin Braun Selene Meteorite dial - photorealistic moon phase, etched on glass, with a unique shutter arrangement to indicate the phases of the moon.

Bad time of the month to ask with the new moon only just coming out! Mine made an appearance as a sliver at 6:30pm last night...

It may be very hard to find one. It is one of only 35 made with the ruthenium dial. A LTD boutique edition and was only available from one of the 35 boutiques they had at the time. I think they have more boutiques now.

Oh my days…there are some pretty watches on this thread.

Here's my one and old moonphase. A lesser spotted Gubelin:

Doing some further research, it appears that the more reasonably priced moonphase watches are "complete calendar watches" which apparently means that the mechanism needs to be reset each month, normally via tiny recessed pushers.

Does this make the watches awkward to use? One article I read suggested so, particularly if the watch hadn't been worn for a while and had run down.

I probably won't be able to afford a watch with a perpetual or annual calendar complication, so I'm curious how much of a pain it will be.

    Cheers
