I think it suits the watch.
Great, so I got a Black Badger strap for my Velatura. But my wife thinks it's too feminine compared to the original rubber. You judge, I'm beaten... But it is a high quality and lean strap for sure :-)
Cheers!
I think it suits the watch.
I think the Velatura deserves a more masculine strap. Best listen to the wife mate.
Or: Just lose the red buckle and floating keeper.

it looks cool, why not...Isn't strap changing the whole fun of it?
i like it very much. id want rid of the red keeper but other than that, it looks like a very good match.
If there is something feminine about that watch, even if you put it on a pink strap, I am not seeing it
I like it - nice bits of red to match the watch. Keeper is a bit too red though.
As a City fan I object to red in general ;-)
Hmmm, not sure I could live with the red buckle and keeper.
A bit Toytown I feel...
Sorry.
Simon
Don't see anything wrong with the strap. The red stitching highlighting the red accents on the dial, hands and pushers, but as others have said the red buckle and keeper aren't great.
But hey if you like it its your watch and wrist, and at least if the wife doesn't like it she wont be borrowing it!
I don't like the fact that it doesn't taper, especially on such a large watch, but other than that I think it's a good match.
No no no. Get a man strap.
If you like it doesn't matter what the other half thinks but then again it generally does matter what the other half thinks.
You are right, she did actually use gay...but I was too shocked to use it here... :-)
The thing is that there are a couple of things I like, and a few other that I don't. For now it will be back on rubber, although the leather is much more comfy...
And thank you all for your comments!
Yonsson, you are right, it should have tapered more...
Cheers!
I like the red stitching but please lose the buckle and keeper.
I agree with several of the others -- lose the keeper and the buckle.
Klockodile - All joking aside, I appreciate it isn't always easy to find the right strap for some of the more sophisticated Seiko designs. I have a Brightz which I am just about resigned to putting the bracelet back on after trying numerous leather straps.
Have you looked at the Rios range from Watchbandcenter - there are some 19mm & 21mm straps there too (I don't know the requisite size for your watch).
Feminine isn't the word.
Fashionable maybe is, but that may not be what you want to hear
Thanks for the info!
Actually this was a reward for winning a contest on the Swedish site "Klocksnack". James from BB helped design it. So I really don't want to complain too much, it is indeed fashionable, and feminine is not my words...but I was a bit thoughtful regarding the amount of red present. I actually have worn it on an olive green Nato a lot...think the military look could be right here if I was to try another colour scheme.
I think with the size of the strap you get away with the red bits.....looks great
This thread is making me feel uneasy.
Would I really be so superficially judgemental as to construe so much about any man from the colour of the buckle on his watch strap? (I'm talking about people in general). And if I was not alone in this, what a tightrope we men must all walk each day to avoid being wrongly judged in one way or another.
But Baz Osti is right isn't he - these small things do matter.
Surely this is outrageous - it's making me angry just thinking about it now.
I suspect Klockodile's feelings were a little hurt - mine would be.
But hold on Peter, this is a watch forum and we do have a tendency here to obsess about such trivial details - surely things aren't really as bad as this.
Now where did you say you got that strap from again Klockodile.

Thanks for your concern!
Honestly I'm not hurt, and frankly I wouldn't care about this "feminine" matter if I was 100% content with the strap colours. But what my wife said, kind of instantly and indirectly put a finger on what I would have thought about it after some time. I want a more tool look for the strap. The word gay in this context should be interpreted as colourful.
From the answers to this thread I guess it's nearly half half pros and cons, so that means I can't go wrong :-)
The manufacturer is Black Badger straps btw.
Cheers!
