Mercedes should be applauded for letting their drivers fight it out when it wasn't really in the team's interest and had the potential to cost them points (e.g. Spa).

I think you're being a bit harsh on Button. Has a driver ever won the world championship without a "performance advantage"? It's been discussed before on this thread. Alonso came close in a couple of seasons at Ferrari but that was exceptional. This season Alonso outdrove the car again but still ultimately had "average results in an average car". Even Senna only won the title in a totally dominant car.

Button outscored Hamilton in their 3 years seasons as teamates and easily outperformed Perez and Magnusson in the last 2 seasons. Button will pick up good points for Mclaren again next season. I expect Alonso to beat him but it'll be interesting to see how close (or far apart) they are.

You are indeed correct sir, and you can add the Squealer second world championship into the same category as Seb's and Scuhy wins as well.

I very much doubt Button will drive as a number 2 next year in 2015 irrestive of what Ron and the squealer thinks.

As for Hamilton's ear ring I assume it's was a joke or just the ranting of an old fart. As for Nicole, I would certainly not kick her out of bed, unlike Rosberg's squeeze who is average at best and shows a lack of imagination!

But let's face it this is Formula 1 not some beauty parade or a copy of GQ magazine.

I just stated that Button scored more points than Hamilton over their 3 years as team mates which is a fact but yes it's also a fact that Hamilton beat Button in 2 out 3 seasons (but by a narrow margin). I didn't say it means that Button is the better driver (and I don't think he is) but it shows that he compared pretty well to Hamilton with the same machinery. It's a stat that's been mentioned by F1 pundits many times before and is hardly irrelevant. I don't really get the football analogy as you can't really compare teams with different players and managers across different seasons.

Button could get found out by Alonso just like Massa and Raikkonen did. Personally I expect him to compare better than them but I'll still be surprised if he outscores Alonso. Button fully deserves his place in the team and without him McClaren's last 2 seasons could have been even worse.

Completely agree, I think Button is much better than most give him credit. Looking forward to next season!

It's hard to believe that Schumacher's accident was over a year ago.

I'm guessing you were reminded by this piece from the BBC website - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-30623832

There's also an update on Jules Bianchi - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/30639514

It was the Jules Bianchi statement that made me think about it.

Just ordered 3 of them for £12 due to the offer. I suspect they have made a mistake and will cancel it all off.
