Not made up my mind, could be the 18, 22 or 82.........
For me, the PRS-82.
It's bloody fantastic, extremely well made, the best value for money watch i have ever owned... And i have had a fair few! :D
What's yours and why?
Not made up my mind, could be the 18, 22 or 82.........
PRS-22 Speedbird III
The essence of what a watch should be.
Another vote for the PRS-82 it just has a a great 'feel' about it and looks fantastic, with the snake head hand just giving it a unique look as well.
This is like having to choose between your children, you love 'em all but each one has their own endearing qualities.
For me it has to be the PRS-12, I still haven't found a better balanced chronograph dial
I guess it would have to be the PRS20 Italian - fantastic watch, I bought it on a whim not quite expecting to really like it - when I got it I was like wow. A real impact watch with interesting heritage.
Closely followed by:
PRS22 - SB III - fantastic alround watch, best value ever at £340 new (first batch)
PRS50LE - No radiations - sometimes there is no substitute and this watch must be worn.
PRS53 - charming watch - the Smiths29 might have the engineering but the 53 has the charm (never was an arcylic man till this came into the stable)
The ones I didn't gel with
PRS50B - didn't like the tunnel effect of the dial
PRS12 - (SB Chrono) I guess I'm not a chrono man - soon to be on the chopping block - fine watch though
That's a hard question to answer when one's yet to experience all of them. Between my Speedbird lll, PRS-14 and PRS-18Q, if I had to have just one, it would be the Speedbird. Such a versatile piece.
18A all day long, even though I'm really happy with all my others - 5, 17C, 20LE, 21, 22, 50B and 82. Would dearly like to try a 29B, but I still think the 18A would come out on top.
Currently I own a PRS-5 Broadarrow and really enjoy it. I've had a 22 and a 22 GMT also and seriously thinking of getting another 22....
The correct answer is the PRS-22.
For me its the Prs82, what with its unique handset to the basis in its history to so many other factors the 82 gets my vote and I have had the 10 the 14 and maybe someday the 68 but for now and starting at Christmas I will start my journey with the 82 : )
With such a strong body of work to choose from it's hard to pick just one but the Speedbird 3 is just about the perfect watch imo, the only watch I really regret selling
"I looked with pity not untinged with scorn upon these trivial-minded passers-by"
22 For me as well hits all the right points for me build quality price just a great timepiece.
Paul.
You're all wrong.
Everyone knows it's the PRS-9/CAF.
(Not my picture - it's from here: http://watchreviewsbymcv.blogspot.ca...czech-air.html)
More great images/discussion here: http://watcharama.com/precista-caf-prs-9/
Another vote for the Speedbird. It's the most versatile, most comfortable, most perfectly sized watch that I have ever owned.
The prs-82 runs a close second though...
PRS-30 for me. Also have the 20 and the 82 but the finish and the look of the 30 is a class above.
Obviously it's the Speedbird III GMT because that's what I have. Really wanted the GMT version for that extra timezone. Turns out I never use it, but damn I like that flash of orange on the dial...
Too many to choose well it should be the PRS 22 as I am lucky enough to have 2 an ivory dial and one of the latest top movement models, however I'm smitten by the PRS 25 and then Eddie released the PRS 82.
It's hardly been off my wrist since it arrived I do like my divers and this one is awesome beautifully finished fantastic case and dial also love the hands and a great strap.
So my final decision is ....... The Speedbird III it's a timeless classic.
Only own 2 ( so far ) Everest & PRS50B- Everest is worn day in day out & on the original bracelet, did try on a NATO as well for a while but Everest on bracelet for me.
I miss my PRS-50 LE, and I enjoyed all the other auto and quartz divers from Eddie's selections that I have tried, but I do love all the following left in my little Time-Factors collection:
Dreadnought
Dreadnought Voyager
PRS-29B
Speedbird GMT
Possibly the Speedbird is my favourite out of those listed above - I'll be wearing the DN-V for the next week to get a real feel for it though. But there is something just so right about the smaller GMT :)
It's just a matter of time...
Looked at the 82 when released and tbh it didn't do anything for me!,but I got a pm from Andy Armitage about the watch and a few pm's were sent back n forth, and with that a little reading up on the original back in the 80's I suddenly just had to have one:).
And after posting a WTB Mike aka Minkle sold me his:).
Without doubt one well made watch and like a lot of watches looks a whole lot better in the metal than pics.
Speedbird and Everest ?
Then again I am biased owning both.
Richmond Spencer. It is all about the dial. Movement is pretty as well.
One day the Voyager , the next the 82 ! If I had to pick one would probably have to say the 82 .
PRS18Q "England"
In all honesty I'd have to say.... I never had the PRS-9 and I would sure like to give that a try
I'm late to the party and haven't owned any but given the choice I'd go for the 50B.
Quite tempted by the 82 as well....
So….here is a question. Should I sell my TAG Heuer 2006 Aquaracer Auto and buy a PRS-82 when the next batch come in with the proceeds? Not sure how much I'd get for the TAG as I am aware TAGs are not very desirable by those in the know (and its currently being serviced for almost the cost of a PRS-82!). May not even be worth selling!
Genuinely interested in opinions.
If this is the wrong place to post this, many apologies and please direct me to the best place to put the post.
Cheers and merry Christmas to one and all
P
I have a 3LE, 25, 68 and a 21.
Of those it has to be the 68.
I'm no big Seiko fan, but the Smiths Diver is just ace.
Might have to try an 82 now though!
Hmmm...not sure that there is a 'best' as it all depends on what you want it for - but at the moment I think the Precista PRS-20 and 82 are fantastic looking watches
Of course there is no "best". I have a PRS5 Broadarrow, an Everest and a Voyager, and I enjoy them all equally for very different reasons.
F.T.F.A.

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
