Heads Up Max Bill Handwinding on Amazon

Just a heads up on Max Bill hand winding models at Amazon.

Combine with the 20% off fashion code, and these are just over 280, makes me wince on what I spent on mine new last month.

Was the one you bought only 34mm?

They look cheap but did you notice they're all rather small (34 mm)?

What is this 20% fashion code?

Yep it is the same size I bought. I'll admit when I received it I was taken aback by its size but I got used to it and have no qualms with it, although the bigger-wristed may:

Here is an quick image for comparison with my Sinn 656 (38.5mm) on my 6in-ish wrist.

The barely there case gives a lot of estate for the face.

The 20% code is given when you sign up to their fashion newsletter, it works against watches sold directly by Amazon, at least it did for me last month as I used it on my Max Bill purchase. Go to the clothing department in Amazon and you should see a link to the offer.

I see some other larger and more interesting models on Junghans Amazon site - if there's a 20% code we can use on those watches you have my full attention!

Only those with the Prime option unfortunately, as those are sold directly by Amazon rather than third parties. Otherwise I would have considered a chronoscope.

The other two variants are still on offer. In fact

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Junghans-Gen...words=Junghans

has gone down further in price, and you should be able to get it for 260 after discount! It is out of stock, but you should still be able to order it. You need to select Amazon from the list of sellers.

Yeah I saw - surely can't live without the '4' on the dial though :-) But difficult to justify an extra £200 for!

Many thanks to 'zeroeseight' for the heads up. Normally I wouldn't consider 34mm, but have always wanted a Max Bill and at £260 am willing to take a chance, so ordered today. I suspect the design makes it wear a little larger than the 34mm size suggests, but we'll see. Unlikely to find out until after Christmas anyway as I wait for them to come back in stock.

    Thanks again.

    Here's some comparisons on how big/small it wears (34mm, 34mm, 38mm, 44mm) EDIT wrist size is about 8 inch/20.5cm -

N.B. At £75, the Rodina wins on VfM by a country mile...

That's useful, thanks, especially as I have an identical Rodina myself!

I noticed it's dropped recently in price further to 245 after discount.

Choose Amazon from the list of sellers, apply the discount code on checkout. It's out of stock but you should still be able to order it.

I ordered mine on Nov 26th (with it listed as out of stock) and to my surprise it arrived about a fortnight later. Might be worth checking on yours as they were very good about keeping me up to date with expected delivery dates as they started to come back into stock.

Mine has been on order since Dec 7th; asked for an update the other day and was sent a polite email which basically said, wait or cancel. I'll wait another 3 weeks then ask again. Still not sure on 34mm so may end up cancelling the order.

Finally got an email this morning from amazon telling me they are cancelling my order. Not at all happy after waiting over 4 months!

I got the same email. I spoke to them on the phone and confirmed that the 20% discount voucher can be used for something else. You just need to arrange it with them in advance and contact them after you've placed the order when they will deduct the 20%.

I'm on the lookout for another Amazon watch bargain now. Any ideas?

Using that discount a couple of years ago, plus an already discounted watch, I go a Ti Skyhawk for the same price as a SS version.

The Skyhawk is one that I was looking at as well. Amazon has had the PVD version and currently has the Blue Angels model for £305 which is quite tempting with a 20% discount. I'm not sure I can handle the size though and as always when you start to look at the JDM versions they are always better looking than the ones we get.

Wouldn't be too bothered, they will have another "Sale" Some time in the summer. That max bill watch goes up and down from £300 - £470 about 3 or 4 times a year.

It's no longer available from Amazon, only from third party sellers who don't offer it nearly as cheaply as Amazon did.

The Watch Gallery in Barcelona had these for sale at aroundabout €1400 a couple of years ago..
