Oh yes, very nice my friend, very nice indeed!!!!
Gorgeous, and a birth year too - congratulations
congrats indeed, exceptionally nice, birthyear AND getting it in the year of your fortieth
That's very nice indeed. My birth year too, sadly my red Sub is a year out. A worth fortieth birthday present! At least that's what I told myself.
"A man of little significance"
That's a very lovely watch and very jealous. Love the fading on the dial and hands, makes it look even more beautiful
Gorgeous, congrats!

Cheers chaps I do have a dark black bezel to but the one fitted looks so good
It's beautiful, .. many congratulations
lovely, that's really nice!
I am looking for a 1974 watch for the same reason at the moment...but I suspect I won;t be getting anything quite as nice :)
I`m not a fan of the whole vintage Rolex thing, but I have to say this looks nice. It's in great condition and I can see it has a different appeal from the more modern offerings.
If one of these came my way at the right price I might just be tempted. I`ve been pilloried earlier in the week for criticising some of the scruffier offerings......but I can see the justification for buying stuff like this.
Enjoy the watch, it looks like a good'un, and they're the ones worth buying!

Very nice
Congrats!
Ross
PS I haven't forgotten mate - I promise I'll get one ;-)
Lovely, congratulations! Nice even ageing.
Lovely piece, congrats.
Cheers,
Steve
Yep, that's a beauty Mate. Great collection you have over there.
Now that's a nice one!
That is lovely. My new grail. Did they make them like this in 1975? Not that it matters - I'd have to liquidate the entire collection and more...
Congrats!
Always liked the Red Sub and this looks like a fine example!
Nice to have a birth year watch, even more special when it's a 1680Red. Wear in good health pilgrim.
I'm not usually a big fan, but that does look very very nice.
A gorgeous looking watch, is very impressive specially with the faded inset.
Looks very classy that Baz
What at a stroke of luck that chap on the beach in Thailand just happened to have one
I think that looks stunning, love the faded bezel.
How beautiful. Especially seeing to the faded bezel and markers/hands. Congratulations!
Very nice, congrats!
Lovely example - please make sure you wear it and not let it hide away in a safe!
Lovetly. My '72 red says 'hi' :)
Lovely watch. The faded insert is very nice - not too washed out.

Wanted - Damasko DC57
That does look nice, is it a biggie having a birth year watch?
I really think this one is a keeper fingers crossed :)
That is just stunning.
that is stunning - congrats and enjoy!
PS: I want one!
Love the comparison pic, both beautiful watches. A bit like seeing an early 911 and a modern one together, though I'm sure that's been said many times before.
Absolutely gorgeous! Lovely patina too.
As stated before keep the faded insert, will look much more period than a new one.
Birth year sub is very tempting
I believe you should be able to send it to Rolex when it needs a service (which shouldn't be for a good few years yet), the give you an itemised quotation, a necessary list and optional list. However if all else fails there are a number of Rolex accredited watchmakers who are more sympathetic to vintage pieces and will do exactly as you wish

Perfect in every way!
“Don’t look back, you’re not heading that way.”
It's certainly a beauty and the added bonus of a birth year is great. Hope you're happy with it bazza
Absolutely stunning!!! I really want one of these for my 40th next year!! circa 1974!! however funds are going to restrict me to one of the LV's like yours next to the red sub!!!
