^^^^ Agreed, I'd like to know more about this one as well.

PRS-14 PVD (Eddie only produced a few...not sure how many) on the prototype Seafire strap: see New straps thread.
There were only 6 of the PRS-14 PVD.

Any news? Is September still realistic?

I flipping hope so!
Picked up a bakelite Smiths 6A/1275 MkII D 8 Day clock the other day. Thought it might go well with the Seafire...
It certainly goes well with that Bremont.
The Seafire should be finished this Friday shouldn't it(going by the recent availability forecast thread)?
Can't wait for this, only wish it had been a handwind with a lovely big crown :)
Oh well I can live with my first quartz.
Holding breathe... going blue... Must be a synchronised announcement at midday or something...
NTR.

That had me baffled, Eddie. I didn't think you were using the first Urban Dictionary definition, but both they and wiki have other options.
nice and simple great colour scheme
No matter how pretty the new Smiths is, this is the one I'm waiting for.
...now if only this watch came supplied with the new two piece nylon strap in black with a pvd'd deployant clasp ...
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
any news on an eta for this one ?

Smiths logo in white looks better imho
One day a watch will come.
Roland Kemmner phoned me this morning and asked if I knew how to set the movement in the Seafire. I have to confess, I thought it was normal setting because the ISA website doesn't say anything different but it's not.
Pull out the crown to hack the seconds hand and then slightly turn the crown: the hands will start to move slowly and as you continue to hold the crown the hands will speed up. Release the crown just before the correct time and then turn the crown again so that the minute hand moves slowly to the correct time. Release the crown, push it in and the seconds hand starts to move again as normal. The time adjustment speeds up the longer you hold the crown, just like holding the button down when adjusting a digital watch.
This reminds me a bit of the Omega cal 1340 (the one with the push button in the crown).
I think I'll make a short video.

I quite like the sound of that.
Hope the dimensions (and price) on this one make it viable for me because I really like its looks.
That could well be very useful and prevent a lot of messages from the uninitiated!
The ISASwiss manual for the 9500-1010 has a graphic, but it's not very obvious what it means:
...but I gather it works to retard the time setting as well as to advance it.
Now that's pretty cool, it has just gone up another notch in the desirability ratchet for me.
As well as being cool, it also means it must be nearly ready?
And here it is:

Very, very nice. Release into the wild must be imminent.
Stop teasing us all Eddie, when I can I get one?
Been reading this thread in full and asking myself how I've missed this! It looks great.

That just made my Christmas list. Gorgeous
Good stuff. Could be my first new watch purchase for a while.
Ah very nice! Is the crystal flat or domed on this one?
