My daughter in law has just sent me a snap of my son and his BT Bianca.
She's a right handful!

I'm using a new host so just took a test snap of Dot with my youngest son.
Can everyone see it OK?

They are both working (whereas the previous wasn't).
All's great now, Neil!
As always: Brilliant pics!

Been a while since posting on this thread and there's been a few changes with my gang...
We lost Mia in March... She was 16 so she'd had a good bat but it was still heartbreakingly sad.
She was my first gundog and I trained her myself. A friend at the time warned me "not to expect miracles, as your first one is never any good".... Well, she must have been a miracle because she was fantastic.
Superb nose, worked to hand and whistle out to 200 yards and was a problem solver when she needed to be.
She had her first day out at 13 months and worked until she was nearly 13. Only stopping because of hearing loss.
She had a graceful retirement.
She'd been a raggety arse for quite a while but was happy to potter about at her own pace and wasn't in any pain.
In early March the back end was more wobbly than usual and getting back up was becoming more and more difficult.
She had a bad night on the last Monday and I lay with her throughout on the kitchen floor.
I truly thought that she was going to go in her sleep....
She made it through to Tuesday morning but when we looked at each other she was saying that it was time to go.
She slipped away very quietly and peacefully in my arms.
I buried her on Wednesday morning on one of the partridge drives on the estate. It was where she chased a flying pricked bird and realising that she wasn't going to catch it with speed alone , jumped and caught it in mid air!!
A magical moment and probably her finest retrieve.
I can see it now,
It will be my lasting memory of what a wonderful gundog she was.
She's buried where it happened.
With spring flowers and a wonderful view.
I miss her everyday.
Poppy in the obligatory lion costume.
Mia's torch has been taken up by Bluebell....
She's a complete lunatic who we call the ginger terrorist !
And the new boy on the left is Duke. A short stay foster with issues who we have adopted.
He's been de-nutted and has settled in to be a loving playmate and nursemaid to Blue....
He's still a bit nest protective tho.
...and the big black donkey is Jasmine, who some will remember had the chest surgery following an argument with the pointy end of a branch at 20mph chasing a pheasant.

A sad but uplifting tale about Mia John.
We never forget them.
Cheers,
Neil.
Thank you Neil and Tony.
No, we don't.
Thanks for sharing John, I feel slightly better about humanity after reading your post.

Mia was obviously very fortunate to have you as her owner John. Despite the inevitable sadness, that was an uplifting story, beautifully told.

She's a clever dog who can obviously read.
The bottom of the first page says "chew it over"
What else did you expect her to do.
Our two (Speedy and Scamp) yesterday, up Cairngorm Mountain.
Not a real dog...
Dot having a nice restful afternoon on her chair.
Cheers,
Neil.
Nicely colour coordinated upholstery and Dot's mouth (pink!)
Menno
So this is what he gets up to when he is home alone.... Don't know why we buy him a bed!

We are in the process of giving a home to a rescue pup. He's a 14-week old lurcher (Sulaki-Lab cross), by the name of Freddie.
Hoping the final stages go ok, and he could be with us shortly.
He already seems to get on well with our 8-year old (who has apergers).
Fingers crossed...
We have a Saluki lurcher rescued at 4months, now 2 years old.

Meet Bink.
She has Just returned from two weeks in the uni's vet hospital with pancreas problems. Bink is 9 y/old and her owner was chuffed that a stranger on a bike (=me!) pulled the brakes, got off the bike because of bull terriėr!
Bink was clearly happy with the attention, but still a little under the weather according to the lady owner, who also explained that she had a hard time with her neighbours "... because of the dangerous, ferocious pitbull..."

Aah, Bink's gorgeous.
Can still see the post op shaved leg I know so well.
I'm sure the owner appreciated you making a fuss of her Menno. I must admit I do the same.
Cheers,
Neil.
Last night SWMBO and I visited a litter of English Springer Spaniels pups. We put a deposit on this little fella. Noodle, as he will be called, should make a great companion for our other ESS. I can't wait to collect him in mid-August.
