Newbie - Seiko Samurai is evading me - someone? anyone?

I am a WUS member but having no luck over there being it a predominantly overseas website

so I have joined this UK forum for some more local knowledge

I have a number of Seiko Divers and looking for a Seiko Samurai to fuel my seiko sickness

Does anyone know of any suppliers where I can get one? I don't even mind which model as long as the price is reasonable. The ones on ebay seem to be SO expensive and most are in USA.

The last thing I want to do is buy off a private foreign seller, where it takes weeks to come, and I may get hit with duty charges (especially from the States)

Pretty sure they were discontinued a couple of years ago.

Ditto. The model is discontinued - that's why prices are so nutty the last few years.

Yeah I think you need at least 50 posts and have been a member for 60 days or more, before you can access and post in WTB.

I know that feel. Been looking for a titanium sammy for a while, but they're either priced at laughable levels or they get snapped up immediately.

I just think people are jumping on the bandwagon and just trying to milk it at the moment

looking through the old threads we should be paying no more than $300 really

I missed a used SS version on ebay last month that sold for £150

I would spend upto £220 for the right one in good condition

I was keeping an eye out for a titanium Shogun, but prices are very high if available at all. And hardly anyone bought them!

Are Seiko autos going up? Trendy at the mo?

yes I saw that when it was listed. I offered him £200 but he declined, stating eBay US prices as his reason

also, I would have had to pay VAT on that due to coming in from the channel islands

I note he won't ship internationally but that shouldn't be a problem if you're willing to pay for a US mailbox company. I know nothing about the vendor.

    I found this via http://www.watchrecon.com/?query=samurai.

There are a few Ti versions flying around WUS for $525 to $550 - which isn't a bad price for a mint LNIB version

I've pulled the trigger on the white SS one so just waiting on the delivery now

let's hope all goes well - and it was worth the wait and hunt

I think the online seller with initial "Y" might have aftermarket bezel.

I never actually asked them, probably a good idea. Any idea if the UK branch could help me out considering they never officially imported the Samurai?

I asked him a while ago and he said he didn't have one, however will ask again. I want the replacement sapphire crystal too.

Just ask them and find out. It's only a phone call. :-)

    Try Rob at monsterwatches.eu

For a complete Samurai: you can ask him that too, or try Spanish eBayer SoloJapan.

Give them a try, they sorted me out with a replacement movement on a SARB and I can't think of a UK model with the same movement.

I bought and sold a couple for more than that a couple of years ago, think you might need to rethink your pricing...

Had a few of these and wish I'd hung onto them considering how they have crept up in price.
