Tudor Pelagos - how does it wear?

    Hi all
I'm currently looking for a 35th birthday present for myself and tried the Pelagos at Geneva airport yesterday. I have to say it looks great in the flesh, far better than in pictures, and I found it very comfortable for the short time I had it on.

Do we have many Pelagos owners on this forum? Can you guys give me any insight in to how comfortable it is day to day?

Does the auto adjusting clasp really work?

How do you find the height? (Just over 1.3cm) any issues not slipping under cuffs (my pet hate)?

How are they holding up to regular use? Knocks and scratches? Most things I own take a beating, so it needs to be tough!

    All answers gratefully received!!

Very comfortable, and flat enough for all my shirt sleeves.

Only v light desk diving marks on the clasp of mine, and the clasp works very very well.
It's just a matter of time...

Thanks - can I ask your wrist size?

    You can ask.

Usually between 7.75 and 8 inches.

It's a cracking watch, it does wear a full 42mm size, but is lighter than most due to the titanium.

Is it all Titanium or just the head or strap ? Whats the RRP ? That's a lovely looking watch

I think it's only the clasp that is steel.

My wife just bought me a Pelagos during our anniversary trip to Montreal last week. It was a gift for my 40th.

It fits my 6 3/4 inch wrist fine and looks natural, but I have a wrist that's flatter than it is tall, if that makes sense.

To me, the watch would be perfect if it was 40mm and a little thinner (like the Sub). However, nothing's perfect, so...

I will say the taper of the lugs to the bracelet (like the old Sub) looks so much better than the new Sub. But, to each their own.

It does seem to scratch easier than steel.

The only part of the watch that is steel is the clasp.

The adjustment system of the clasp is amazing. Not just the spring loaded part, but also the quick change option that gives you three settings. Overall, I think it gives you nearly 12mm of quick adjustment. Very helpful and comfortable in humid conditions.

I love the symmetry of the 4 line dial and how the date window is shaped and sized like the 9 o'clock marker, again adding to the symmetry.

    The lume is crazy good.

Really like the tradition of the snowflake hands.

    No problem fitting under shirtsleeves.

The case back is flat, so IMO much more comfortable than the caseback of the Sea Dweller.

Bottom line, I think it's great.

    Lovin' mine too

I wanted a high-quality tool-diver to suit my 6.5" wrist. The Pelagos fits the bill very well.

I really like the look of this, its the first time I have seen it.

where would one acquire such a thing of gorgeousness, in the UK? and what would the RRP be? I make it to be £2500 converted from CHF

    Pics on wrist

I picked mine up from my local AD, this is the "one watch" contender for me.

I think it's an incredible watch.

    Cheers

This one is so high on my list right now. Can someone please show me some pics of how ugly it scratches to stop me from buying this? ;-)

I wear mine most days, and even it it does pick up the odd mark, it's easily removed with a 'garry-flex' block. I have mine on either the bracelet or it works well on a Sinn rubber with deployant .....

Tudor Pelagos - how does it wear?

Andy, did you just buy it ? :-)

What's the lug to lug length in mm of the Pelagos?

Is it lug to lug length longer than the new 42mm Explorer II ?

Do the lug ends on Pelagos curve downwards more than the lug ends on new 42mm Explorer II ?

Iconic watches can do it for a bit less if you push them a brand new one at that, I think they are very competitive.

Be careful the expanding clasp doesn't nip your 4 skin, I got a bit adventurous with mine, it was begging for it no pain no gain.
