Thread: Special incoming!! My ultimate dive watch

Special incoming!! My ultimate dive watch

Since my interest in watches really took off last year I have been on a very fast (and expensive) journey discovering watchmakers I had never heard of different movements, dials, case finishes, straps!! Since then my tastes have changed dramatically as I found my way so to speak.

As soon as I saw this model I have been obsessed with it and trying to track one down at a 'reasonable' price, I also wanted the limited edition as I preferred the brushed case finish. From seeing other members collecting them my fascination only grew and when I found one I was hell-bent on getting it. I had to sacrifice my Omega AT and Speedmaster but it was definitely worth it. There really is something special about them as I'm sure other owners will agree. Everything has already been said about its history the huge reserve power etc but it was all part of the draw for me. Today I finally picked it up and have just got it home.

Initial thoughts? They are going to be biased at this early stage but the strap is phenomenal, comfy and a fantastic clasp. The bezel is stunning and clicks with a resounding assurance. The dial is clean and simple in keeping with the originals. My favourite part is the caseback and seeing the rotor and movement, absolutely stunning.

    I present number 204 of 500....

(Excuse my photos, I am no photographer!)

    Lovely watch though.

This is my Pagani Huyara watch - The one I'd buy if I had more money to spend than I knew what to do with

There's not many watches I'd say this about - but I agree, that is *absolutely* stunning.

I suspect that even at a 'reasonable price' this would be well, well out of my reach. Probably just as well :).

    Enjoy it!

I didn't realise there was a brushed finished version. Some lovely details including the rotor. Wouldn't be my first choice diver but I can appreciate why you like. Also love the Peli case it is delivered in. They are an awesome piece of kit.

Very pretty, although I don't really like dive watches with display backs.

As a dive watch I'm not sure it would actually be much good and it certainly wouldn't look so pretty after a few weekends with me. :-)

Great incoming! I'm a big FF fan, obviously, but they're fantastic watches. The Peli case adds to the sense of occaison, and the deployant clasp is a nice touch on the LE.

  31. #31
That is just simply gorgeous, one of the finest looking timepieces I've ever seen in fact - especially the caseback.

    Monkey see.

    Monkey want.

Yup, its a real looker. If that doesn't get admiring glances and complimentary inquiries ,well, I'm not sure what would.
    Enjoy

Does the rotor have 3 blades? Looks to be in perfect balance, you should check that automatic winding actually works :-)

Lovely. If I had to choose just one diver to wear for the rest of my life, I think it would be a Fifty Fathoms.

That really is a lovely watch!
I was just wondering about winding. Presumably one of the rotor tips is weighted
