Been listening to TP all day, he has been a steady companion throughout my adult life and his passing has really touched me.

Like many others, today I'm on a Tom Petty kick. Currently on the Mudcrutch album & I love this song:

Wonderful. I always liked his collaborations with Stevie, ever since the "Needles and pins" snippet from Pack the Plantation.

Who'd have thought 18 months ago that Tom Petty and Prince wouldn't be with us now?

    live from Daryls House

Daryl Hall has a beautiful house in upstate NY and he has a studio/rehearsal place. He has a guest who plays with Daryl and his band. Watched the Billy Gibbons one and Joe Walsh today. But really any of them are good. If you like rock, the Sammy Hagar episode is excellent. Lots of episodes on You Tube

Joe Walsh was excellent, particularly Life's Been Good.

Great stuff. Seen him a fair few times over the years, everything from the full band to an acoustic duet, marvellous keyboard player too of course. The first time, in the 80s was the only time he had the small trampolines, somersaulting from side to side across the City Hall stage in Newcastle while still playing. Same show he came out on the balcony and sat next to us playing. Unforgettable.

Just watched this evening's episode of Cold Feet and it closed with this song. I immediately recognised the band but had no idea they'd covered this song; it's not on either of their albums.

Rare one this, local NE band Danceclass, from their eponymous 1982 album. Luckily back in the day I recorded it on to cassette from vinyl, borrowed from the library, and have been able to transfer it to CD and mp3. Must try and upload the album to Youtube. The albums I recorded on to quality TDK cassette tape via a Pioneer turntable with an Audio Technica LS12 headshell with an AT 120E cartridge, and Denon amp with a Yamaha KX390 tape deck still sound really good with same tape deck played through Arcam and Dynaudio. The same turntable still sounds good too.

I was going to listen to some Long Ryders, but instead chose Sid Griffin's acoustic band, the Coal Porters:

Another sad day. I've spent the day with a Canadian friend and we have been listening to the Hip.
