Aye, that was quite a shock when I saw that news earlier. You can sort of expect the older artistes to pop off, but not at 46. Terribly sad.

Following on from Raffe's post, it seems only fitting to be reminiscing:

Not all old music. Been going over a lot of Mike Pattinson stuff recently. Mit Gas by Tomahawk as well as Anonymous. Pretty much any Faith No More. But currently rather obsessed with the new songsite that A Perfect Circle have put out recently

Awesome, one of the most interesting bands of the last ten years. APC have a new album coming soon too if you are a Maynard fan

I know. Really looking forward to it. The two they've released already are among the best APC have ever done. Beginning to think we won't ever get another Tool album though

I am a casual fan of Tool at best, I find MJK much more interesting outside of it.

Tool were my gateway drug for so much music. I've been into all sorts over the years after seeing various bands back up Tool on tour and going down rabbit holes. Isis, Red Sparrowes, Russian Circles, Tomahawk, Mogwai... the list goes one. Recently discovered Battles, which is really quirky but really good. Their album from a few years ago called Mirrored is really good.

Also got a bit obsessed by Casualties of Cool in the last couple of years. Slightly bittersweet because I don't think Devin Townsend will do any more

    What a showman! Superb.

However please stop posting these Youtube links for Talking Heads because it's a recipe for me wasting another half an hour going through their videos ;- - only joking :-)

What was the show where he kept on going off stage and then coming back dressed in an even bigger suit?

I'm not a guitar-player, but I've become slightly obsessed with Davy Graham's 'Angie' (or 'Angi' or indeed 'Anji'). I've just spent a little while on Youtube listening to different performers' take on it. There's one with a TZ-UK connection; the now-banned Java. He's a very good guitarist, with a long history of recording.

I love this piece of music, and always marvel that it was created in 1546 and yet after all these years I can enjoy it. I have it on fade in for my alarm on my iPhone.
