    Absolutely stunning.

Mich, much better looking than the bracelet. Did you keep it or sell it?

Thanks, I'm very very happy to finally have the watch the way I've wanted it for so so long. Looks so much better now.

I've decided I won't be ever putting it back on the bracelet and I can't see me ever selling the watch, I just love it too much. So off to Sales Corner the bracelet will go in the next few days. The funds can be put to better use I say so it has to be sold.

Id say thats the best plan. The bracelet is nicely made but all navitimers look so much better on leather, and croc is the nicest of all. I keep an eye on the bay for a decent condition croc for mine at a decent price.

That's where I got my croc from - only 1 month old - from the Bay. Patience and watching the bay and SC and months later I got my rich deserves. All in selling the leather tang strap and buying the croc + brand new deploy cost me £200 total. Too happy about it.

I think I'll have to do an ode to the Navitimer soon, it deserves it's own thread as no offence to other Breitling models, nothing (bar the rose gold Transocean) comes close to a Navi.

Chronospace, 46mm, Pro III bracelet, Volcano black dial, it's a beast........but in a nice way.

I do really like the white faced Navi' above beautifully crisp.

  18. #418
That Code Yellow looks lovely. Arguably the best Avenger dial and the black/yellow is different. How durable is the finish?

  19. #419
Thanks durability looks very good but only just started wearing this so will know better once ive spent more time with it (no pun intended).

thanks its not titanium they call it black steel which is steel processed in some kind of funky carbon coating way (DLC?) to harden it and give it the black look.

I have one of those. Bought it last November from SC and immediately sent it away to the Breitling UK service centre to be serviced. Apparently they have just one technician able to work on vintage chronographs. That means that mine isn't due back until this November. Looking forward to having it back and ready to wear.

have been trying out a couple of looks with my B1.

i took the bracelet from my emergency mission and fitted a set of correct end links for the B1. getting the emergency ends off the fighter bracelet required me to knock out a couple of captive pins which was a tad awkward and i cant fit the correct breitling pins to this bracelet as the collars are too wide so i have a couple of cheaper pins fitted, not ideal so i might have to look about and seee if i can find some better pins in my spares box.

then i tried a couple of NATOs:

and finally tried a NATO on the emergency (from which i removed the bracelet)

i really like the NATO look.

    My favorite Navitimer model.

Contrary to what some might say, the integrated bracelet gives it a sleek look whereas the typical lugs can make some Navitimers wear big..

I may already have posted this earlier in the thread, I'm crap at photography but i think this is a little better than the last effort. I love this watch and while the tri compax layout is more prolific i do like this style

I can definitely see a Navitimer in my future at some point! Have almost bought one a few times in the past.

I'm unsure if you can truly appreciate something, until such a time you are genuinely settled on what you really like.

All the flipping, trying new things, really does cloud your judgement.

Well, I've flipped over half a dozen of these, but it's been my daily watch for a while now and I've got to say, it's perfect for me.

It's only after years of messing about with watches that I've come to realise what a classic the old Chronomat is. Great size, shape and utility. Had a Vitesse many moons ago and sold it for lack of wear :(

As an attention whore I would, however, the really intelligent, well informed on here persist to tell us it doesn't work.

Bit of a dilemma. Trying to thin the collection to just a couple of higher end watches and wondering whether or not I can let this one go. I'll never find another is the problem :-/

This was my first 'proper' watch and it was one that I spent years saving towards. It's also the watch I'll never get rid of.
I've had it for almost six years and I'm still amazed at the phenomenal build quality - the knurled crown, the AR coating, even the bezel click.

Somehow, along the way, and without intending to I must have become a Breitling fan-boy because I recently added an Aerospace. If I never had to buy another watch, I'd be happy alternating between the two.

I've just recently bought this one. I've always admired the Plutons but this is my first one.
It's an A51038 and probably dates from around '94/95.

It's seen better days. I had to re-enamel some of the bezel numbering, the backlight is so dim it almost doesn't work so I might have to start looking for a new movement, and the bracelet will need a bit of restoration (some of the pins are very loose and a few links are scuffed) but I'm sure I can revive it. Breitling don't service these anymore so it might be a bit of a project watch.

Really like these and fancied one myself as sometimes they pop up at the right money, if your going to have a project at least it'll be a worthwhile one!

I have its Italian cousin (and yes, I was in the navy on the sister ship of the one mentioned on the dial, although it was the Belgian navy):

Got it for 36 USD on the Bay, in totally acceptable condition and even tested to 20 atm! Had it for ten years now and is a keeper.
