i knew that i had seen them somewhere before, the price reminded me of them, more than hopefull.
Stunning collection... but HOW much??!!
Not into my WWW's, but that's asking a lot surely?
Cheers,
Effortless.
Please excuse my ignorance of military watches, but may I ask where the appeal in this "Dirty Dozen" collection is, when the only thing that appears to change on the watches are the hands and the brand name?
I know that collectors and aficionados of any particular thing become more sensitive to the many small differences of their collections, but I thought 12 watches that basically only alter two things was going a little far.
Can anyone actually confirm if there is any difference whatsoever in the cases or the dials (minus the brand name)? Perhaps my eye for detail is not as sharp as others.
The bezels!! I see slightly different bezels (I think). I'm getting better at this.
Some cases are all steel, others are steel backs with plated cases. Why does any collector collect? I once had all 12 of these, as well as several examples of dial variations. I did it because I could and it was a goal that I enjoyed achieving.
All that you could possibly want to know about these watches is available in the excellent articles by Adrian van der Meijden and Thomas König. Adrian is a member here.
