    A new low for Hublot

I disagree. They have done worse.

It doesn't mean this one is pretty by any stretch of imagination but do not underestimate their designers when it comes to creating watches that look... different.
That being said, they sell extremely well so they are doing things right for their target market.

To be fair, that really isn't the worst Hublot by a long stretch.

The Big Bang is fundamentally a great design - i just wished they'd keep it simple.

I'm struggling to like anything about it too. Perhaps some kudos for the innovative date arrangement?

What the hell I will admit it, I saw it a couple of weeks back and I like it.

I used to be a Big Depeche Mode fan back in the day and think it is different.

    Would I buy one, NO.

    Still think it is cool.

It ain't that bad, in fact I would say the worst thing about it (apart from price) is the association with a crap 80's band.

I agree and the Ice bang and All Black look great and innovative, but this is too much even for a footballer, well, some footballers.

Nothing is too much for a footballer. Ever. And that is one of the great tragedies.
But I'd rather see them with those Hublot than with Pateks, vacheron and Dufour.

I think I'll reserve judgement till seeing it on the flesh. I used to hate the look of the knurled Zeniths till I actually saw one out of the case. Would still never buy one- good luck getting a ding taken out of that!

    Oh dear!

I'll confess that I've never understood the appeal of Hublot but keen to give them the benefit of the doubt I had a look through their current offerings. Now I can usually find at least one watch in a manufacturers collection that I like or, at the very least, that I can appreciate some of the details of. Unfortunately this isn't the case with Hublot, at all.

Undeterred I had a look through their back catalogue, surely they must have created at least one watch that I find aesthetically pleasing. Er, it appears not.

So just why do people like them? Am I missing something glaringly obvious (I usually do) or are they really just the goping, OTT, pretentious, statement pieces that they appear to be to my eyes?

Please feel free to educate me, in the meantime I'll be singing 'I know I've seen enough" to the tune of a Depeche Mode song.

    Cheers,
    Gary

Well, quite. Not sure what a watch from Basildon would look like though.

Yesterday I was showing off my recently serviced/ made as new GMT Master to my next door neighbour. He announced that he had been over to Blowers in Hull and bought a new watch. He disappeared and returned to thrust the most awful looking watch into my hand. It was hideous, gold coloured on a rubber strap, I couldn't think of a nice thing to say about it but obviously he hadn't paid more then a few quid and as a joke that's O K .

Of course going indoors I turned on the Ipad and Googled Hublot.

Had to go and lay down in a darkened room,

    Thumbs up

Being from Luxembourg, we kind of feel connected to Mr Biver. I always try to give Hublot a special chance, to find an excuse for their exuberance and some (most) VERY special models. I even bought a limited edition for a friend of mine (the colours where matching his company logo, don't ask!).
But this closes the deal, and as Mr Biver has departed the company for a while now, I will call them what they are:
    COMPLETELY OVERPRICED ICE WATCHES...

  49. #49
Every time I see a new Hublot release I always think 'How long have they got left?'
I know they have had plenty of buyers in the past, but surely the fad with these is coming to an end sooner rather than later!?

Whilst I feel slightly ill looking at this one, they surely must know their market - clearly not here!.
