The 7A28 1st gen's seem to go for anywhere from £450-£600 (for one in near mint condition.)
Had one and sold it a couple of years ago and miss it.
Hi all,
I've just been looking on the MOD auction site at one of these, and rather fancy one. I'm totally new to this type of watch so was hoping you guys could advise what sort of price I should expect to pay.
Many thanks in advance.
Jorrocks.

Thanks very much, gives me an indication of where I need to bid to be in with a chance!
Might be worth keeping an eye on this if only to gague a closing auction price.

Neil at Chronomaster has a couple of gen 1 and 2's.

I thought this one might have been up for grabs cheaply earlier this week.

It was well below £200 until the final 4 hours. I'm guessing because it didn't say "RAF" in the title. There's often different words to search for; Gen, Gen1, Generation, pilot, military, helicopter, navigator etc
Still only went for £310. You don't see too many (Gen1) on eBay under £380 but the 'old boys' can probably remember picking these up for peanuts
Let us know how the MOD auction goes.
I've tried to look at them online in the past but gave up.
It's funny how different 'arenas' can sometimes create their own specific price level.

I bid on a couple of issued Precistas recently - one sold just before that for £137 and yet the 2 I bid on shortly afterwards went for £50 & £66. Its almost as though prices drop off if you bid on a like for like piece immediately afterwards. I'd suggest you look out for when several Gen 1's are advertised and then bid on the later ones. Get my drift?
Other than that it's simply a case of supply & demand.
Totally gratuitous shot of mine:

Asking / selling prices have increased over the last 4 years; average worn condition range from £650 - £800 nowadays, with exceptional examples making £1K+*.
I started a continuation of this thread my own forum, to monitor prices going forward. Seemed like a good idea at the time.
600+ posts and 60,000+ views later, it's still running 4½ years later. For anyone who might be interested:

*Top of that page, one nicely presented example made £1220 at the beginning of December 2017.

But I'm not sure whether this has the bevelled edge like the original.
Sternkreuz crystal p/n XMF300.860 has the polished bevel edge and is available from Cousins UK (a darned sight cheaper) - £4.15 + VAT.
