Very nice indeed, the nicest SD IMO. Where from?
The other day, nowhere else than at the pub, a friend tells me that it looks just like a 5513...
I had to go through the whole story with him from 1967 to 1984 (he asked for it...lol)...and tried to explain the need for a saturation diver tool watch etc etc....Sort of an anachronic piece now....? But who cares, this baby is relatively rare, chunky, fun to wear and charming!
Enjoy the pictures:

I'm not quite sure what you mean but:
1). I'm from the UK
2). The watch is from switzerland and was sold there I think (I think I can work that out from the serial number right? The last 3 digits indicate the country code, no?)
3). The strap is also from switzerland (Milsub Nato...!)
4). The pictures were taken in the UK
Actually, I meant where did you buy it. I had no idea they originated in Switzerland.
Simply stunning ! That's my grail right there. Wear it in good health good sir
I'd argue the strap is in fact English. Looks very like a Phoenix NATO :-)
Last 3 digits has nothing to do with the country code either.
That's lovely, you are not making the fact that I don't have one any less painfull :)
I doesn't suit you .....sell it to me ;)
Lovely watch!! Wearing my 1665 on a black NATO today.
Lovely, just lovely.
I might have another one day.
It's just a matter of time...
Well done hugo, absolute stunner and if its from who I think its from I have seen that watch and I thought it was absolutely stunning
RIAC
Absolute stunner. Very jealous. I would love one of those. Hugo, surprised your friend knew about the 5513 yet wasn't aware of the subtle differences with the SD 1665, most of my mates would have just said nice Submariner!!!!
Gorgeous. Enjoy it.
The more I see the 1665, the more I think I need one to compliment my 1680. Or some kind of seadweller. mmmm.

Absolutely perfect 1665. Enjoy!
Thanks for the nice comments my friends.
And special thanks to Alanski ;)
The only Rolex I'd swap my 5513 for.
I'm not a big fan of the SD, but just love the dome on these.
Enjoy !
Naah doubt you seen this one as only people seen this
Were me and my watch maker and my pal who dropped it off to
My watch maker for a check and light clean up
It truly is as nice a 1665 as you will find period , it's probably my favourite
Vintage Rolex ever .
Pretty rare one to boot 8mill serial every other collector I spoke to said
Damn that must be one of the last 1665 made by Rolex

Congratulations, does it come with box and papers btw?
Much prefer this to the more modern sea dwellers, wear it in good health
This has me looking at ss Rolex again
Lovely example of a classic watch. Love the particular hue of that grey nato. I had one a while back, well a Phoenix made strap bought through Corvus, and the grey was just right on my 5513, much nicer than the TF grey / silver, but IMO the quality of metalwork, stitching, holes etc fell well below that of Eddie's examples.
