I love number 5! The rest are great, but #5 is just awesome.
Here's some of my seiko mods... I started out with buying a mod from yobokies, but I wanted to learn how to do the mods myself. So I used google and got the tools necessary and jumped in with both feet ... here's the results:
First attemt:
Second mod:
Third mod:
Number 4:
Number 5: Case, bezel, crown and caseback coated by MotorCity WatchWorks
Number 6:

I love number 5! The rest are great, but #5 is just awesome.
Bought the monster and SKX on ebay
Was it one of the Philippine ebay sellers eg apol_of_your_eyes?
no, think it was from one of the well reputated power-sellers from japan...
I'm tempted to build another custom Seiko Diver, but lost money in the end..
The basic watch cost me about £75. I bought a new dial and hand set, plus a Nato strap for another £40 or so. I even took out the 7S26A movement and serviced it, only to decide that there was an issue with the day wheel not lining up properly in the day/date window (A very common problem with this Seiko movement). So I decided to fit a spare 7S26B movement from another Seiko5 watch I had.
So the trick is getting a cheap case set, you can actually buy a new one from Cousins (UK) for £89..
Cousins ref S25028 (7S26002061E)
Great work and very inspiring for those who are still working up the courage to have a go. I think you've managed to build all the mods that I ever wanted to do, at your first attempt !
How do you find the lume on the aftermarket parts when compared to Seiko items, I was a little disappointed myself. So the next challenge is to get into re-luming ....
The lume on these aftermarket dials are not great!?
But if you want to re-lume it yourself, it's quite tricky as you have to apply the lume with a oiler, and getting the straight lines is very difficult (If Seiko used lume buckets it would be easy!).
I did see somewhere online, where the lume areas were surrounded with tape, but this would take ages!!
Nice work.
I'm halfway through my Black Bay Mod.
Even with the hand setter, getting the hands on (especially the second hand) was a real ordeal.
I offered it up on the tip of a tab of sticky tape. Got there in the end but after many and varied expletives.
What's the knack???
Regards,
Martin.
Just got very helpful pm from Stipey.
Forgot I'd messaged him!
Happy to share if anyone wants it.
M
That may just be a brilliant tip!
Coming in from above, got to be easier.
Nice one. Thanks.
Martin
Apart from anything else, you'll need the Bergeon Rodico to remove finger marks, grease, dust etc from the dial and or crystal...
Some nice creations there. Number 7 is probably my favourite but I'd be pleased with any of them.
Its quite a satisfying feeling having built your own watch and knowing its possibly the only one of its kind out there
Love the monster and the planet monster! The planet monster has to be one of the best mod combinations out there.
Some great work there .
Love the 2nd mod. Is it an SKX007?
What bezel is it?
i think 2 & 7 are fantastic...
Number 2 looks really good.
Fantastic mods Stipey, think if I had to pick one it would be the one in the first picture.
I like N2 very much.
A kind of always wondering why they are making the SKX series with day/date window on 3 o'clock rather putting the date window between 4 and 5?
For me - the watch looks little strange if I don't see the index on 3 o'clock...
Love these but I don't have the patience for this kind of fiddly work...
No.5 gets my vote also, number 7 ain't too bad either, well done.
Can I ask where you got the big pip Bezel as seen in 1 and 7 and how much you paid for it. Looking for one of those myself.
Cheers
Si
Impressive work. I like 6 and 7 in particular.
