Bamford and Son Sky Dweller, no accounting for taste.

Not that I'll be able to afford this, but it's something I would buy even if I had the dosh.

‘…wonderfully compliments the majestic complexity of the movement and perfectly encapsulates everything that the timepiece of the modern, style-conscious traveller needs: simplicity, luxury, reliability, and geography-defying elegance.’

    Geography-defying elegance?

Presumably that means it'll resist subaerial erosion, deposition, transportation and protect against the formation of wave-cut platforms.

Honestly I don't see what's the big deal about Sky Dweller. It isn't THAT bad people make it out to be.

I think Bamford should stick to making diggers!!! Seems they appear to be doing the ProHunter thing. Are these watches made in the Factory or are Bamford modding them themselves?

Likewise, but you'd have to be a bit bonkers to buy it.

    They do it themselves.

I actually like the original but all bamford seem to do is butcher perfectly good watches.

    Me too. De-blings it considerably.
As mentioned though.....PVDing gold would be pretty crazy, and I can't say it's one of my favourite designs to begin with.

ETA: that bezel looks good in PVD but the dial is still a total mess IMHO

Perhaps it's just me but I like the Sky Dweller, it's a good design and very stylish.

I also like the Bamfords / ProHunters of this world too :)

Should make for an interesting patina effect in a few years time when the PVD starts to wear off.

Should be called Bastard, not Bamford.

Somebody with a rich heart take pity on this poor horological soul. Buy it and revert it back to it's original ugliness.

Is it me or is the outer ring (above the numbers) pitted or poorly finished?

I love what they've written about the Nautilus 5980:

"Adding a chronograph to the Nautilus design results in a timepiece that is as practical as it is tasteful."

    Oh, the irony...

Give it a couple of years and half the people on here will be willing to trade vital organs to fund a Skydweller ;-)

Before it looked like a flan dish with some wall clock parts thrown in it...

Now it looks like a teflon coated flan dish ......

    Oops.

    You're right of course.

Good old Rolex. Always there to support the vanity projects of the surburban meglalomaniac.

    Damn fine watches, though.

Any customisation encountered at RSC is treated as a defect. I recall a thread recently where a member was asked to pay for a new bracelet as he had sent the watch back on something else.
