    Rolex submariner strap

    Hi there.

Apologies if this is posted in the wrong place, but I thought this is the most viewed place and most knowledgable.

Anyway I have a 2012 14060M and would like to out it onto a leather strap. I absolutely love the Tudor Black Bay Heritage with the ages leather strap and wondered how opinions were on this idea?? And if I could trouble some people for suggestions for the best place to buy straps like this from.

    Thanks in advance.

Same for me too. I tried a leather strap on mine (just one I had laying around) and, for me at least, it just didn't work. A nato is also a real cheap option!

Agreed - it would be difficult to find a leather strap that would work. The Omega black rubber with curved ends works well though (oh, and a the sinn) ;)
It's just a matter of time...

    Straps

Just put mine on cheapo £10 NATO. It has transformed the look and feel of the watch . I will try the rubber offerings off Everest and Rubber B when I get bored of my nato . Also some Ralley straps are on the menu in the near future ;) .There are a couple of pictures on a Rolex face book page , but not sure if one is allowed to post a link here :/ .

At the end of the day , there is no right or wrong as long as you like the look or feel of your watch :) .

    Rolex submariner strap

I have the same watch & also went down this path when it was new.

Several straps later, I have given up & use NATO or the bracelet. Love to try a RubberB but frankly cannot justify the price.

    Black NATO, bond NATO, done!

LOL - I guess we all need to go down the same path .

db10 would be your best bet. I wanted something like the black bay for my Longines and James sorted this for me.

Hell of a choice on there for a sub http://db10straps.tumblr.com

No, hadn't heard of it, but will have to have a look now. I can feel it may be a slippery slope to purchase!

Try Stach in Poland as he will make you a strap to order at reasonable prices, below are images of one he made for me.

A Phoenix dark grey NATO - as used by the RN/military divers & SF - looks at least as good as a black NATO, IMO. Rolex sell these for about 3 times their usual price, but you can also find them on eBay for around a tenner.

A sub would look great on a Toshibin some kind of vintage brown. Bracelet is best though I fear.

I agree with this - I've put my sub date on loads of different straps with different colours.

I have come to the conclusion that for me, the bracelet or my two piece black nylon strap (that is on at the moment) is the only look for me. I have a grey nylon 2 piece that doesn't look bad either..

The second strap looks phenomenal. Really very stunning. Which do you generally have it on?

Pay no attention to the repressed traditionalists, Foxyadam, they have mommy issues. Subs rock on leather. If you're in the UK, look no further than Toshi in London. You can browse his online gallery for something that appeals to you.

Go to say +1, although I have a GMT on a NATO and it really does look the part. Try it, you might like it, and for a tenner, what can you lose?

Cant say i have ever noticed a odour from a leather strap.... Didn't even realise the problem even existed , you have me paranoid now ! LOL . Do i smell from my wrist and everyone notices it but me.

Does anyone else's watch make them smell !!

Original bracelet, NATO or a Tropic strap for me, but it's your watch and you should go for the look you like best.

There's a nice looking 20mm Tropic on Sales Corner at the moment. You could drop 'Monet' a PM if you were interested (I have no affiliation with him) as I suspect you can't see Sales Corner yet.

    Corrected that for you :)

Also I don't get why you would put a waterproof water onto a strap (leather in most cases) that isn't?

Thanks for that. Looks top notch and all of them.
