    Incoming new Omega Speedmaster

Picked up my new Omega Speedmaster yesterday, I went for 3570.50.00 model. I really wanted the steel back version, looked more rugged and I have a clear case back on my Omega AT.

Really cant wait to give it some wrist time!

Excuse the poor pictures, they were taken in my office last night on my Blackberry, and I'm crap at photography!

Well I have got the images to show (finally) but now photobucket or the forum is rotating them???

An all time classic. Be sure to mix it up a little with different strap options. They really are versatile...

I always keep coming back to the speedy. It's beautiful simple and balanced dial plus it's history is hard to beat by any other watch.

It's a classic and it hasn`t changed significantly over the years, which (to me) makes paying a lot for an older/vintage one a bit pointless. I`m a fan of vintage watches but for something like this that's still being produced it makes more sense to buy a recent one.

A classic and well done. It is good that Omega is not trying to change it.

well done, looks great. I liked mine best on a black nato but it looks good on just about any strap.

I do hope to pick one of these up in the not too distant future. Every time I see one the urge to get one is getting stronger!

    Congratulations!

Hoping to get one very shortly....still can't decide whether to get the vanilla or sapphire sandwich.

Did you get yours new from an AD? Can I ask how much you paid?

    Hi,

The one I wanted wasn't in stock, the catalogue price he showed me was around £2800 then deducted VAT and then a little off.
    Get yourself one :)

I'm not sure which one you wanted, but for me this, or one of the similar models (hand wind / auto etc), are the best looking... I'm very jealous!

Sorry just saw the way I wrote it, I did want the 3570.50.00 and thats the one I got. My AD ordered it in for me, he only had the 'newer' ones with the clear caseback.

Yes, very nice and very cool. I think I'll be going doing the three watch collection with a good diver, good dress watch and good speedy. Brand new is lovely, congrats

Nah, nothing like getting a watch with some history, imo.

Nice example, welcome to the Speedy Owner's Club!

I have the Apollo 11 40th Anniversary version:

Got mine in a sale at a very good price too

Bought mine (the same as yours) back in November 2011 from an AD and paid full price! Love it though I have been thinking of selling it since a recent purchase has stolen my heart and I've worn nothing else for nearly three whole months! Looking at your pictures 'nearly' made me get mine out of the watch box.

Still, your pictures have put a potential sale on the back burner.

A classic right out of the box, its great that Omega never really changed the original design and still makes these, including the hesalite. Enjoy it!

With all due respect, you're posting some junk today in just about every sub-forum.
How about you slow it down a touch fella?

I differ as well. There has been quite a difference in the movement (try hand winding a cal. 321: much smoother than a regular 861!), further the dials with applied logo look much better (my taste...) and the early Speedmasters are better sized at 39,7 mm...
