I'm also getting a lot of e-mails asking for specific numbers. There is no list and I'm not accepting pre-orders. I don't know how to do it yet but with an initial release of only 100 pieces, it's bound to be chaos.

Its need not be chaos as pre orders would guarantee a sale of the first 50 I imagine, but I agree it would be sensible to limit to 1 per customer

What about a scheme whereby slots are pre-sold to 100 lucky people. Let's call them, say, "plankholders." Instead of actually getting on and producing the watch you could provide meaningless updates periodically for a few years while assuring everyone that each watch is being painstakingly individually assembled over a period of several months by one gnome. Oh wait, hang on....

The allocation needs to be done in a fair and transparent manner, with first choice given via high post count, and in descending order from there.

I think it should be done in order of those posting in this thread.
I was the first to reply to Eddies first post btw.

To be fair I think allocation should be done in alphabetical order of members names and starting at La. ;-)

Alphabetical order sounds good, just call me Aaron Aardvark.

    Wink 37 commitments

    Only 37 commitments so far.
There is a small chance that it might not sell out.

Nothing wrong with pre-ordering it gives the vendor a statement of intent as to what will sell which is far better then not guaging the market, I see no difference between a pre-order system and a mad rush when released, the mad rush could be messy and disadvantages those who miss out through other commitments.

Well in for a penny in for a pound as they say. Xmas will have to wait until March 2013!! I'm in if a list exists.

I think the fairest way to do this would be-the nearer you live to Eddies house the higher your priority on release date.

    Simple and fair!

    Looks absolutely great Eddie,

Obviously, I'll be hoping to purchase one of these beauties - any number will do and given that you're not taking pre-bookings it's going to be an anxious wait on the release day. Fingers crossed.

You could pop into The Bullingdon for a quicky en route, you should be able to shift a few to the codgers in there.

Yes please - now the huge gamble is whether I am able to be online when the shop opens - and I don't care what number! The good news is that fund is well filled.

I don't know how to do it yet ...

Perhaps the original 200 DN purchases (who are still alive) could be given first choice ...

solely to avoid the chaos of course.

  27. #77
I wonder if there's anything to the serial number in the render...

13020001 suggests Feb '13 for the date of manufacture which gives us time after Christmas to save/make space

Argh I can't take it any more... I know it's not an official list but if by some miracle we get a choice I'd like #30

    I'd dearly like no. 72.

I'm sure Eddie will come up with some fair process to allocate. A simple draw from those who register definite interest perhaps?

I think Eddie always takes 001.

Tony might have to have 002!

I'd have 26 but its all academic as there is no list or pre-order...

I think preferences should be given to those with the highest number of tf watches in their collection ;-)

  37. #87
Ah, but it's an office GMT isn't it? Rather than a traveller's GMT?

Be nice to see some new Dreads for sale, though. Very interested to see the price of this one, given a) the ridiculous value for money of the first, b) the price that that have been shifting at, and c) the increases in the costs of movements, manufacturing, etc.

It looks fantastic, I really like the Voyager text and orange GMT hand.

Are you thinking of sending out a news letter with an update on the new models?

17 would me my choice, but another member got there first. So number 4 would be nice....................................... oh wait, there's no pre order.

In that case then, I'd just be happy to own one.

    We live in hope.

    well...

Nice. I recall from a previous thread on this one that it was expected to be slightly thinner than the original - what are the overall final dimensions? I will definitely be in the scrum when they're released.

Very interested! If this turns out to be the official "first dibs" list, I would love to purchase one. Any number is fine for me.

Please add me to the unofficial list if possible!

I heard about the new Dreadnaught and this thread via OceanicTime (via a friend).

I am new here, but my user is "farroki" on TZ, WUS, PMWF, etc.

    Thanks!

    Humble requets from newcomer

I am new here and am humbly requesting to be put on the list for #12 if available, but any number will be perfect. As others have mentioned, I am here thanks to posts on OceanicTime and WUS regarding the Dreadnought GMT Voyager. Thanks and greets from Amsterdam

I'd like to suggest a battle royale in a pub car park somewhere. No weapons - just fists, teeth, boots etc. Last 100 remaining get the watch. I'll have number 41 if I win ;)
