Wink Can't stop buying this watch from Eddie ...

... just received my THIRD PRS-5 Precista chronograph!

Eddie's packaging and parcel service is in itself legendary ...

Maybe it's a keeper this time. I've offered the previous two for trades that seemed more attractive at that time (sound familiar?) but - obviously - keep coming back for the PRS-5.

And the new batch is equipped with a most handsome swan-neck at the regulating arm.

    Cheers

I only tend to buy divers, but the PRS-5 does talk to me... ... ... one of these days ;-)

Not the best pics - there are plenty of better ones out there, but it gives you an idea!

Grey Nato always did it for me. :)

    Tell me about it....

....I've owned the same used one 4 (FOUR!) times and bought a new one from Eddie. All are now gone and I have a Kemmner (Heuer Homage) chrono which I prefer - and I believe both are made in Germany by Roland Kemmner

It's easy to own a few when they are as nice as this. (I have 3 PRS-20's....)

    The back's not bad either.

Not even a second off in 24 hours.

    Enjoy!

I think I'll buy one to cheer me up after the PRS-17C debacle. Once the PRS-17C money is credited back to my credit card that is.

It was never taken from your account and certainly never went into mine. When you placed the order, SagePay verified your card details with your card issuer and they reserved the funds in anticipation of a charge to ensure that you didn't exceed your limit. If the charge doesn't appear (usually within 72 hours), the hold is removed from the funds.

So I bought one and it arrived today. Why did it take me so long to realise the awesomeness of this watch? It's lovely. Perfect size for my smallish wrist I'd say.

I had one of these complete with display back, unfortunately I thought it sat abit high on the wrist so I sold it on.
I am starting to have regrets though.

Seems like this movement doesn't have the seconds "hacking" feature. Do you miss that at all?

I always found that specific watch to be very attractive. Hopefully, this time it will be a keeper for you! I can't remember how many times I added one to the basket and then choked by fear of it been to small and for it's the Chinese movement. I know now that it's not too small, I know the Seagull MOVT is a good one, I just don't know what I'm waiting for!

Enjoy, it looks fantastic on that cognac croc strap.

Oddly enough, the hands are the principal reason I sold mine on. Just couldn't get a along with them.

Fantastic watch otherwise. Really, truly, fantastic.

Sv: Can't stop buying this watch from Eddie ...

Very nice looking watch. Only thing keeping me for getting one is the appeared hight. Any comments on that?

  31. #31
It was this very thread that pushed me over the edge. Placed my order on 11 Dec, and UPS is saying it will be here 17 Dec.

    Thanks for the nudge!

I do love the watch and own one. Two questions though. Does anyone know why there is not a broad arrow in the space in the bottom half that seems made for it? Also why is the hour hand so long? It actually brushes past the hour indices.

I think it would look great with a broad arrow and a circled 'L' on the dial.
Anyone know who could do this?

First question, IIRC Omega threw their weight around ago, and whilst their argument had a lot of holes in it they have very deep wallets compared to our host. Second question, that is just how it was decided I guess.

This one just arrived an hour or so ago, thanks to a member here, after I wobbled over buying one for more than a year.

First impressions ... it's great ! A very classic look. Buttons work really well. The column-wheel action is certainly nicer than the rather agricultural in comparison Speedmaster ( 861 ).

    Quick pic, of course :

Late here, but will doubtless go mad on it tomorrow with my strap collection.

Ok, but the PRS-10 continues to have the broad arrow on the dial?
