How about considering a short course from a reputable university and without it costing you a penny ? Too good to be true? Well there's no formal qualification at the end of it and the course's on offer are a little limited in scope as well as everything being online but if you've always wanted to dip into a subject matter without going through the formalities or paying for it, this is well worth a consideration.

Excellent post- no excuse to be bored on a Sunday now.
Additionally its worth looking at Open Yale: http://oyc.yale.edu/
For example, there are lots of lectures by Robert Shiller, one of the worlds most influential economists.
Good post, thanks for linking.
Some interesting courses in there. Now, if only I had some of that "spare time" you speak of......one day I hope...
There are actually quite a few universities that offer free online courses. MIT have full degree courses in just about everything. They're good too.
