    PRS18Q - beadblasted vs brushed

I've been thinking about doing this for a while and since I now had 2, of which one had seen some life, it was time to go for it

And a side by side shot with the standard beadblasted one....

What do you think, good job or heresy?

I like the finish - but prefer the sharper edges on the original.
    Good effort though !

Very good job! I prefer the original finish, but that's probably because that's what I'm used to (with my 18Q).

DMZ Mil watch? I thinks its heresy meself, but I've always admired heretics. Which do you prefer?
I liked the sharp-edged slabbiness of the the original and its a shame you lose that- looks like you did the crown as well?

No heresy, but being the owner of a PRS-18A, I prefer the beadblast on this particular watch. I've always preferred stainless steel over PVD, but this was my first beadblast watch and I was so impressed with it, I had the pre-sale order on my Hexa K500 changed to BB from brushed stainless. I couldn't resist having one more beadblast in the stable and the Hexa will have a bracelet with the same finish.

    To be honest…. I don’t know yet.

The beadblasted version is what we know and that might be one of the reasons I prefered it as well. However the brushed finish is more practical in view of scratches/swirlies.

The disappearence of the sharp edges is indeed debatable…. However this is the first time I can where the watch under a sleeve, without getting cought in the fabric, so the “softened” edges do have an unexpected advantage.

I like it. Another fellow member brushed his PRS18 as well and put it on a mesh bracelet... looks very nice!
