Circle with SAP in it - what is it?

I bought a 60's diver from Snogge in SC.. on the dial it has a mystery logo - a small circle with SAP written inside. It's positioned between the dial centre and 6 o'clock position - exactly where you'd find the T on military Subs, if that helps.

    Anyone know what this means?

The South African Police did have a specialist diving unit in the 60s / 70s (don't know if they still have).

That's very interesting - the SAP serif'd lettering looks similar. Thanks for that, really appreciate the help.
It's a 70's watch, I thought it was 60's.. but somewhere from late 60s to early 70s. I'll do some more digging.

I thought I'd found a reference on Heuerville - but it was you.

The lettering does look similar. Interesting - and a good-looking watch.
