Cracking shots Bob - perfectly exposed in challenging light!
Thanks Rob! I have my EC at +1/3 as default as Canons tend to underexpose a little, but in this case I upped it to +2/3 or 1, can't recall which. This method, which I picked up online somewhere, means that bringing the exposure down in Lightroom gets a nice sky (perhaps a little play with highlights and whites too) , and taking the shadows up will benefit the subject without losing detail and having artefacts show up in the dark areas.

Lightroom is such a fantastic tool and I think for anyone interested in improving their photography as a hobby it makes more impact than any gear upgrade does...
All the best Bob,
Lovely shot of the dog Rob, I like the tones. Re flash photography, "The Speedliters Handbook" by Syl Arena is an excellent and easy to understand reference on the subject, I've found it interesing and helpful. You've reminded me of yet another area of photography I've neglected lately!
Another one from Duxford
Nice one Z, and ta for the words. You wouldn't get me on one of those rides!

I misunderstood this at first glance...
One from the Eden Project...
It looks like this...
...If that helps (that one not my image btw)
I just thought it more interesting if I zoomed in - it reminded me a bit of an electron micrograph from the SEM (scanning electron microscope) - where I spent many an hour when I was at Sheffield Uni in a former life.

ISS overhead a couple of nights ago.
Been playing with the flash gear again this evening, it's great to have something to do with the camera at home, getting out for landscapes is hard at the moment as my five week old daughter has developed pretty bad colic, absolute nightmare!
