Here is a random moon shot from me that I have just rediscovered. At the other end of the length scale, a rather grumpy wren.

    Hope you like.

    Nice!

What lens for the moonshot btw?

    Mine was a 100-400L on a Canon 40D.

    Hi JasH

Thanks for the comment. The moonshot is now quite old so I cannot remember which lens exactly but I suspect a 500f4.

OOI, I now shoot Nikon but I spent a long time with Canon and your 40D was the first DSLR that I really thought was a properly sorted camera. It is a classic IMVHO.

Well spotted. The shot would have been equally apt for the Urban Fragments thread.

You got me wondering about their name. Wiki: The name was coined in 1890 by London student Herbert Grime in a national competition set by S. Fitton & Sons Ltd to find a trading name for their patent flour which was rich in wheat germ. Grime won £25 when he coined the word from the Latin phrase hominis vis – "the strength of man". The company became the Hovis Bread Flour Company Limited in 1898.

We called in at a popular breakfast spot this morning, which happens to be next door to a furniture outlet that has my favourite advertising slogan ever.

Tranquil sunset view of River Welland seen from St Mary's Bridge, Stamford, Lincs., looking towards Stamford Meadows. A few seconds later a flock of geese swam into view and the reflections were gone.
