I'm sad to hear about the death of Gene Cernan, a great astronaut who travelled to the moon twice. In documentaries and his excellent book "The Last Man on the Moon" he always came across as a thoroughly decent person.

Apollo 10 Command Module "Charlie Brown", one of Gene's chariots of fire, resides in the Science Museum in London.

Must be a very interesting place to visit, but looks quite dystopian though :-(

Far from it, it's probably just my gloomy photos!

It constantly amazes me, especially the height to footprint ratio

The other half's daughter lives out there; their last flat was on the 49th floor. This is the view from the bed (actually a mattress on a raised box from storage). The mattress was above window height - I never wanted to sleep on that side...

Some Bolivian mountains and cities on a recent visit.

    Illimani (6,438m) from La Paz.

And from El Alto in very different weather conditions.

Huayna Potosí (6,088m) from El Alto. La Paz sprawling in the valley below.
