Got one! Submariner LV Ceramic content...

When it first came out, I laughed at the green ceramic Submariner. Hideous I thought and I was happy to stick with the older LV model. Recently though, I saw one whilst browsing for my JLC and it got me thinking about it. So what better way to try one than to just buy one and see how I get on with it?

Well, so far so good! The dial changes colour shades a lot... it appears to have a kind of sunburst effect. I've had the black ceramic sub and also the bi-metal but I think I actually like the LV the most of the three so far. The quality of Rolex these days is superb; it really is.

A couple of very quick pictures...

    congrats

i've tried on one of these & there's something about that dial that elevates it above the rest of the subc range, it makes it special

enjoy it (how can you not!)

Great watch. Ceramic does make the green stands out.

Thanks for the replies. I'll try and get some shots ASAP with the ceramic LV next to my non-ceramic LV for you all.

I think although they're both green Submariners, they have their own personalities and justifications. Right now, I'm just happy to be the owner of such a nice collection that I'm truly happy with :-)

That's a great choice there. Still probably my favourite of the new Rolex sports range, with the black dial Exp 42mm coming a close second. As you say, you really have to see it dynamically to appreciate the dial, it's adds a whole new dimension to the Sub look. I was very close to pulling the trigger on one last year; other choices got in the way at the time, but I think it's a must-own at some point.

Nice. Not a big fan of the sub C but this may have changed my mind.

I didn't like them initially. Saw one in the metal and didn't mind it. Now I think they are not too bad looking at all.

Green is still wrong though, almost a fashion watch really

I think they are great. Instantly recognisable as a top-line Rolex while being not too blingy. Congrats!

    Cool

Congrats on being brave enough to buy one. A lot of collectors are shying away from these.
I wore mine on holiday in Florida last year & got a lot of comments.
    ENJOY.......
